At approximately 6 a.m. today, Cambridge Police Department executed a search warrant and subsequently arrested a suspect in connection with the October 6th shooting in North Cambridge.
The suspect is being charged with multiple offenses, including Armed Assault to Murder, Aggravated Assault & Battery with Dangerous Weapon, and Carrying a Fi***rm Without a License. The suspect is expected to be arraigned today at Cambridge District Court.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Cambridge public safety personnel have responded to a multi-vehicle crash near the intersection of Market St. & Columbia St. Several involved persons sustained serious injuries and have been transported to local hospitals for treatment. This intersection and some of the surrounding area are currently closed to traffic to help facilitate the investigation into the circumstances of this crash.

Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, October 7th Cambridge Emergency Communications received a 9-1-1 call reporting that an individual had been shot in the vicinity of Columbia Terrace. Cambridge Police, Fire and ProEMS responded to the scene where they located a victim who was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. CPD Personnel are on-scene and conducting an active investigation into the circumstance surrounding this incident, there is not believed to be any broader danger to the community at this time.

Updated 10/8:
The victim is in stable condition and their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

At approximately 3:20PM Cambridge Emergency Communications received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting gunshots in the vicinity of Russell Field in North Cambridge. Upon arrival responders located one victim suffering from related injuries. That individual has been transported by EMS to a local hospital, their condition is not currently known. Police from Cambridge and regional partners are on-scene investigating the circumstances.

Update 1:
Our on-scene command staff does not believe there is any on-going threat to public safety. Community members can expect a heighted police presence in the area while the crime scene is processed.

Update 2:
The investigation at the crime scene has concluded, Rindge Ave and all nearby roadways are now being re-opened to normal traffic. There is not believed to be any on-going danger to the community as a result of this incident. The investigation is on-going, CPD Officers and Detectives will remain in the vicinity.
