In first grade math, students have been developing their math skills while engaging in the engineering design process!

Students took on the role of tower engineers, and each team made a plan for the design they planned to build for a tower that would support as much weight as possible. They had a budget for materials and had to plan how much they would spend on each item. This gave them a context to practice their new skills around money. The students designed and tested their towers, purchasing materials from the "store" as they went.

High school students in the Spanish 3 class recently researched, learned about, and developed cultural appreciation for influential artists from Spanish-speaking countries for their latest El Mundo del Arte project.

They explored how the cultural histories are reflected in each of these artists' works, then created their own artwork inspired by their chosen artists, such as Fernando Botero, Cielo Tejido, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Oscar Ortiz, WIlfredo Lam, Eduardo León Garrido, SPAIK, and Salvador Dalí. They also completed oral presentations focusing on future tense and prepositions and wrote formal emails to museum curators.
