A semi roll-over accident this morning at the 43 mile marker just north of Byesville. It had both of I-77’s south bound lanes blocked for over an hour. At this time one lane is open for traffic. Please slow down for the first responders working the scene. No injuries were reported from the accident.

Just a safety reminder that schools are back in session for the new school year. Please do your part to help keep the students safe when walking, or getting on and off the school bus. Pay attention to the flashing lights on the buses and don’t ever pass a bus loading or unloading. The children’s safety depends on all of us.

The Cambridge Fire Department and the City of Cambridge would like to congratulate Chief Jeffrey Deeks on his retirement after 30 years of service and dedication to the community of Cambridge and Guernsey County. Jeff has served the last 13 years as Chief. His leadership brought many positive changes and improvements to the department. A significant department improvement was the establishment of Ambulance Services to better serve the community of Cambridge and Cambridge Township residents. Mayor Tom Orr presented Jeff with a Key to the City at his retirement ceremony.

Cambridge City Council tonight honored Chief Jeff Deeks for his 30 years of service to the Community and Cambridge Fire Department. The award was presented by President of Council Jeff Leonard.
