The Cambridge EDA will hold its regular meeting on Monday, June 15 at 5:45 pm. The regular City Council meeting will follow, starting at 6:00 pm. Both meetings will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 300 3rd Ave NE.

The Cambridge City Council will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, June 9th at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held at Cambridge City Hall in the City Council Chambers, located at 300 3rd Avenue NE, Cambridge, Minnesota 55008. The purpose of the meeting is to host an informational town-hall style meeting to discuss the topic of Conduit Financing. There will be a discussion of what conduit financing is, how the City has used it in the past, a high-level overview of what is being requested now, and the opportunity for public questions and answers. This meeting is being scheduled to provide information to the public because of a request for conduit financing that the City Council will be hearing on Monday June 15, 2026 at 6:00pm for a proposed multi-family apartment project. It should be noted that this meeting is not to discuss the merits of the proposed project, but to provide information on the public financing mechanism being requested.

The City of Cambridge is adopting a Summer Hours schedule starting Monday, June 1 through August 28.

The City of Cambridge summer hour schedule is 7:30 am till 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am till 12:00 pm on Friday.

The goal of this is to increase accessibility to the public for those who may work more traditional daytime hours, and also to provide a way for employees to better enjoy their summer weekends.

Now that summer is here, many of us are getting outside to take care of yard work and outdoor projects. As you clean up your lawn and landscaping, please remember to keep yard waste out of the street and storm drains.

Grass clippings, mulch, leaves, and other yard waste may seem harmless, but when they wash into storm drains and local waterways, they break down and release excess nutrients into the water. This can lead to algae blooms, lower oxygen levels, and harm to fish and other aquatic life. Yard waste can also clog storm drains and increase the risk of localized flooding during heavy rain.

A friendly reminder: allowing yard waste to enter the street is a violation of city ordinance.
