Today is the 19th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. We hope that everyone can take a few minutes to remember those we lost that day and reflect on the impact this event continues to have on our country. This tragedy changed the life trajectory of many in our AFC community, some on the day itself, others in the months and years that followed, sending them--as service members, diplomats, officials, and contractors--far from home to respond. On this day we are grateful to those who answered the call, in and out of uniform, on September 11, 2001 and since, from the cabin of Flight 93 to Ground Zero to the Hindu Kush and beyond, to protect the country and its people.
For those who lost someone on this day nineteen years ago, you and your families are in our thoughts.
