Cambridge is Distributing New Trash Carts. The default size is much more than typical usage. If you don't want to store multiple large bins; or haul them over stairs, hills or snow drifts - Place your request today! We hope you are well and enjoying a beautiful spring! We are very fortunate and incredibly grateful for the community support for Imagine; and remain hopeful for an appropriate time and place to reopen. Unfortunately, the increasingly contagious waves of new Covid variants are still of concern when pondering an indoor gathering space; and in particular, in leasing a new venue. Vaccines for young children will be another milestone! We are still in a holding pattern.
My sincere apologies for the unusually long absence. Just inching back to health and edging back into the community. I feel fortunate, and hopeful for a better future!

Critical Update: While investigating options for reopening, I discovered that the landlord at Imagine's original location has received an offer on the place which I cannot compete with, and he is not likely to refuse. Barring an amazing turn of events; we will likely lose our lovely building in a matter of days.
Left to my own abilities, in this changed world, Imagine will likely experience a significant downsize at a new location. I remain interested in all options if anyone would like to combine efforts. Just let me know if you would like to help in any way.
The outdoor ship, tube slide/play structure, lobster shack; indoor castle and playhouse will likely need new homes at this point. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to dismantle and move other items and we may need additional hands for the effort if anyone would like to volunteer.
A tremendous heartfelt thank you for all your support over the years and in this crisis. Your encouraging comments have helped sustain our spirits. Your generous contributions enabled us to move and store much of the educational and fun equipment that helped keep children engaged over the years, covering a substantial portion of the huge losses due to the pandemic. The happy years of your participation in the Imagine community made everything worthwhile! We look forward to reopening when we find a location that can accommodate our needs.
Please forgive my lapse in communication. Like many, I have been recovering from a long string of smaller crises during this world pandemic. Fortunately, things seem to be improving! I hope you are all well and managing okay in spite of the tremendous challenges this past year has brought.
We hope to see you soon in better circumstances!

Imagine Yard Sale tomorrow, Monday, May 25th 10-2pm in the back parking lot at 23 Bay State Road, Cambridge! Please see photos of items on our website "Moving Sale" page. We would love to see you if stopping by is convenient, or email or call if there is something you are interested in. Most items are "make an offer, any donation appreciated," plenty are free if you can use them; plus some specialty items as well! We still hope to reopen at some point; if not at this location, somewhere. So the majority of toys may go into storage. We will keep listing available items on our website throughout the week - so keep posted!
One of the issues we still face is the need for help under these new circumstances if we try to carry the play space through the pandemic. Perhaps a "Friends of Imagine" group, cooperative, or limited partnership, or somewhat independent running of one of the floors. Please let us know if you, or someone you know would be interested in helping to run Imagine. All options are on the table, anything would help!
We also now have a "Save Imagine" go fund me page which has been incredibly beneficial in helping us to meet our financial obligations under the extended closure, and to be able to consider more options! It means the world to us to have such strong community support!

Please join our "Save Imagine!" campaign to keep our play space for children & families in years to come. I am so sad to share that Imagine may close due to the accumulating facility costs of the extended closure. We are greatly encouraged that the community would like to help Imagine in this unprecedented time of need. Both spreading the word, and every donation of any amount can help us reopen when the time is right. We tremendously appreciate your participation and support throughout the years!

Dear Imagine Friends,
I have missed the fun, and relatively carefree, days of everyone playing happily at Imagine. It is with great sadness that I must share that our community space is in danger of closing permanently due to the pandemic and rising rent costs. I am wondering if anyone would like to help in considering the future of Imagine with me since it looks like we will not be opening in the traditional way any time soon. See "Save Imagine" at www.ImagineCambridge.com to donate. Would parents be interested in Imagine as a place primarily to work and study while children are occupied in an enriched educational / play environment? Imagine would be partitioned into play zones, with as few as one family in each zone so that everyone would be socially distanced. There would be complete disinfecting between guests. It would cost more per visit, but do you think this would be of interest? I hope you are well and would love to hear your input!

We are grateful for your support! We have started a GoFundMe page on our news feed and also on our website which is now live! Please share it widely and if you are able, consider donating in any amount - hopefully with many contributing we can start to cover some losses and remain viable when things open again!

Thank you so much for all the input! It is tremendously helpful to know what people are thinking. I am not good at asking for things, but we really do need help. It is very encouraging that people still care about Imagine with so many other concerns our there.
