๐Ÿ’™ JUNE COLLECTION DRIVE | SUPPORTING NICU FATHERS ๐Ÿ’™

This June, in honor of ๐Œ๐ž๐งโ€™๐ฌ ๐Œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฅ ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก, weโ€™re partnering with the Isanti County Sheriff's Office to collect items for our Purple Bin Initiative ๐Ÿ๐จ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐ specifically on supporting ๐๐ˆ๐‚๐” ๐Ÿ๐š๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ.

NICU dads often carry an incredible amount silently โ€” balancing fear, responsibility, work, finances, protecting their families, and trying to stay strong while navigating one of lifeโ€™s hardest journeys.

This month, we want them to know:

๐˜๐จ๐ฎ ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ฌ๐ž๐ž๐ง.
๐˜๐จ๐ฎ ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ฏ๐š๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ž๐.

๐Ÿ“ DROP-OFF LOCATION:
Isanti County Sheriffโ€™s Department

๐Ÿ“… COLLECTION PERIOD:
Now through June 18th

We are collecting through June 18th to allow time for sorting, preparing, and organizing donations before hospital drop-offs later this month.

We are seeking brand-new, unopened items such as:

โ–ช๏ธ Menโ€™s hygiene items (body wash, shampoo, deodorant, razors, etc.)
โ–ช๏ธ Socks, hats, comfort items
โ–ช๏ธ Tumblers / water bottles
โ–ช๏ธ Snacks and encouragement items
โ–ช๏ธ Small gifts or self-care essentials
โ–ช๏ธ Other thoughtful items for fathers navigating the NICU journey

Together, we can remind fathers that strength doesnโ€™t mean staying silent.

A huge thank you to the Isanti County Sheriffโ€™s Department and Wayne Seiberlich for partnering with us to support NICU families in our community.

๐Ÿ’™ Because no father should walk the NICU journey alone.

Deputy Evan Oltz, Deputy Thomas Jerome, Deputy Simcha Gavzy, and Sergeant Brandon Oliver were recently presented the Lifesaving Award for their actions during a cardiac arrest call in Wyanett Township on May 4, 2026.

When deputies responded, civilians Ryan Becker, Mitchell Johnston, and Andrew Berthiaume had already begun lifesaving efforts. With the nearest ambulance approximately 26 minutes away, Deputy Oltz quickly deployed an AED upon arrival. Throughout the incident, a total of eight shocks were delivered while deputies, members of the Dalbo Fire Department, and ambulance personnel worked together to provide continuous, high-quality lifesaving care.

Through the combined efforts of the civilians and first responders, Jeff Johnstonโ€™s heart rhythm was restored, and he was breathing on his own before being transported by Life Link air ambulance. Jeff ultimately made a remarkable full recovery.

Special recognition was also presented to Ryan Becker, Mitchell Johnston, and Andrew Berthiaume for their extraordinary actions prior to the arrival of emergency responders. Their willingness to act immediately in a critical situation played a vital role in saving a life.

The Isanti County Sheriffโ€™s Office is proud to recognize everyone involved for their teamwork, professionalism, and commitment to helping others. Their actions exemplify the very best of public service and community partnership.

Confidence is increasing for an active stretch of weather starting Wednesday evening and lasting through Friday.

Multiple rounds of showers and storms will bring well-needed rain to much of the region. Generally around 1" of rain is expected for most areas, though it highly variable depending on where storms move through. It is likely that some locations will exceed 1" where storms persist for several hours, and some areas could see well below an inch if storms avoid your area.

A few storms have the potential to become strong to severe, especially Wednesday evening across western Minnesota. The severe risk extends east on Thursday, though confidence is low on the extent and timing of severe storms due to round of storms Wednesday night.
