It has begun!

We are happy to announce that we will begin some much-needed renovations on the library! We received a grant from the State of Illinois to help us with this work, as well as additional support from the Village of Cambridge. The slate roof on the original part of the building is from 1929, so we will begin by replacing that this week. We will be modernizing the elevator in November, as some of the mechanical parts for it are no longer being made. We hope to also replace the carpeting, paint, and restore the cupola, so we are continuing our fundraising efforts. We will also have a donor wall, recognizing businesses and individuals from the community who supported this project with a donation of $250 or more. We will keep you posted on other renovations as they happen. Donations to our renovation fund can be made through our website or by mailing a check to 212 W. Center St., Cambridge, IL 61238.
