GLBTQ-DVP has just published groundbreaking research that sets the context for thinking about trauma-informed practice for LGBQT* communities and can help develop trauma-informed approaches specific to LGBQT* survivors of intimate partner violence.

This new publication is intended primarily for staff in domestic and sexual violence organizations; however, it is applicable to practitioners in other anti-abuse disciplines, homelessness services, mental health and healthcare circles, criminal legal systems, youth services, and an array of other human services disciplines and social change endeavors that seek to serve and ensure the inclusion of LGBQT* communities.

Are you aware that 3 trans women of color have been murdered in the past week? The levels of violence against TWOC, people of color and trans people as a whole are now receiving more attention than in the past. If you’re looking for a way to get involved there is currently a petition urging the White House to investigate these racially and gender based hate crimes. Also, check out local movements raising awareness of these crimes, like .

"Join The Brown Boi Project for a healing and restorative space for people of color. During our time together, we will discuss how misogyny is harmful to all communities and how gender justice is vital to survival.

THIS EVENT IS FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR ONLY! People of color of all genders and identities are welcome. :-)

This event is part of Summer of Brown Boi - a national campaign throughout the month of August to elevate the conversation about gender justice in communities of color.

About Brown Boi Project: Launched in 2010, the Brown Boi Project works to build leadership, economic self sufficiency, and health of young masculine of center womyn, trans men, and q***r/straight men of color--pipelining them into the social justice movement. We are a diverse and broad community, driven by a commitment to racial justice, gender justice, and transforming our privilege of masculinity into a tool for social change. We prioritize support that improves the lives of masculine of center womyn, q***r, and trans people of people of color; work that transforms the lives of women and girls; and introduces new alliances and tools for challenging racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia across our communities."

In Massachusetts, it's legal for a transgender person to be turned away from a hotel or denied service at a restaurant, simply because of who they are. But today, we're proud to help change that—by launching Freedom Massachusetts, the campaign dedicated to passing legislation this year protecting transgender Bay Staters from discrimination in public spaces. Click "like" and share if you know discrimination has no place in MA, then join the campaign here: http://freedomMA.org/Pledge
