Cambridge Historic Museum The Cambridge Historic 1906 School is a community museum. It preserves Cambridge's past and helps shape the future for our children and grandchildren.

The Cambridge Historic Museum is located in the 1906 School building at 213 South St in Cambridge, WI. 2021 vVisiting hours are 9 am - 3 pm on Saturday now to mid October. Open other times by appointment. For tours and information call (920)563-9095.

Cambridge Historic School Museum is hosting a 250th Independence Celebration on July 8th at Villa Buonincontro. Join us for a picnic dinner and dramtic readings of the Declaration of Independince along with period letters written by women during the Revolutionary War. Doors open at 4:30 and readings begin at 5pm.
All 150 tickets for the dinner and event are FREE! The event is sponsored by a grant from the Cambridge Foundation and in-kind donation of the Villa by Tony and Mandi Buonincontro. Tickets can be picked up at the museum on first come first serve basis.

Now open and fully accessible by elevator, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursdays and Saturdays through September.

First Day of School at Cambridge Historic Museum is Thursday May 14th. We'll be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday and Saturday through September. Stop in to see our new exhibits and the handicap accessible elevator.

REMINDER: Our last day the museum will be open for the season is Saturday, September 27th. Please stop by if you haven't seen all the improvements made this year. We have a lift for ADA compliance, new sidewalks, landscaping and exhibits. And we are always available by appointment for group visits.

Russ Amacher passed away March 20, 2025. He was our researcher and curator and friend. He will be missed.
Our museum is a treasure-trove of historic artifacts, stories, clippings, pictures, and books. Finding an answer to our visitors’ questions requires an understanding of the collection, the filing system, and of course, what the actual question behind any inquiry really is. Our museum had a fabulous resource, a patient listener with years of experience exploring the collection. Russ Amacher liked to be known as our curator and researcher. He was outstanding in both roles.

If you ever thought the stairs at the Historic School Museum were like the STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN...fear not,. The long awaited elevator lift is installed and operational. Watch for opening day and be one of the first to ride the lift to the museum main floor.
