The Cambridge Police Department is honored to announce that we have been awarded $10,000 grant from the Purina Foundation.

The money will go towards purchasing dual run kennels to house our police K-9’s while off duty. Having a dual run kennel will allow our officers to house other department dogs, if needed. We currently use a private company, which has a daily cost, to kennel our dogs. Having the ability to kennel our own dogs saves us money and keeps our department’s assets with department personnel. Whether this may be due to vacation, injury or other administrative needs.

We are grateful for the generous contribution from the Purina Foundation. We are a small agency with a limited budget and rely on community donations to keep our K-9 program going strong.

In 2025, The Purina Foundation awarded over 1.1 million dollars to organizations across the United States.

It has been brought to our attention that at least one resident of the city has received a phone call claiming to be from the Cambridge Police Department. The caller ID read "police non emergency" but did not provide a telephone number. The caller, who had a foreign accent, claimed to be an officer from the Cambridge Police Department and advised there was an arrest pending. In this case the caller hung up and notified us.

This is a scam and we urge you to hang up as well. At this point we have very little to go on, so if you do receive a similar call, please let us know.
