Happy Friday!

A final reminder to those groups who would like to apply for funding this academic year, please go to the student groups page (http://www.gsd.harvard.edu/resources/student-group-guide/) and fill out an Application and a completed Budget and Events Proposal Form before midnight tonight!

As discussed on Wednesday, August 30th, the Student Forum has limited funding available. When filling out your application forms do bear in mind that the principal criteria for distributing funding will be:

Amount of money requested.
Detail of application and feasibility of proposed activities.
The number of group members and the impact of the group’s activities on its members and the wider GSD community.

May I also remind anyone who is planning to set up a new group to review the list of existing student groups. Please send Sam Matthew an email [email protected] as soon as possible explaining how your proposed activities differ from those of existing groups, and why you would like to set up a new group.

Student groups will be notified of status and budget allocations by September 15th.

Before starting a new group, please review the list of student groups at the GSD, as there may already be an established group with the same or similar focus.

Check out what your peers are up to! Todos en Bici (Everyone on Bikes), a student led initiative that uses the bicycle as a way of creating inclusive community, is generating a lot of excitement among cyclists in Mexico City. It aims to make bike-based exploration and community making accessible to everyone regardless of age, disability, or experience. A group of 20 bikers from one of the largest cities in world is preparing to bike 1500 km across one of the most rural roads on the continent. The group includes blind riders, deaf riders, young folks, old folks, cyclists with many years of experience, new bikers, and people with disabilities. They will film their journey, creating a documentary that inspires others to challenge their assumptions of their own abilities. Marta, a partner in the journey, a blind cyclist, shares her story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uv2YV_Lztqw. This is the crowdfunding page: http://igg.me/at/todosenbici/x/12513909

Todos En Bici | Crowdfunding is a democratic way to support the fundraising needs of your community. Make a contribution today!
