Through a variety of programs and activities, we strive to enhance the physical environment; improve the quality of life for residents, businesses, students, and visitors; and support the diversity of our very special community. The Department is organ

ized into four major divisions: Community Planning, Economic Development, Environmental and Transportation Planning, and Housing. The Department also administers the city’s federal Community Development Block Grant, which funds programs of benefit to people with low and moderate incomes, primarily in the areas of housing, economic development and human services.
