Thanks to fellow Committee Member Jim Sicks for being the lone ranger representing the Dorchester Democratic Central Committee at this past Saturday's Battle of Vienna festival!

As a local Democratic Party, it’s important that we show up for the communities we serve — including local historical festivals that honor the sacrifices made in the early fight for American democracy.

While we consistently show up in the more populated parts of the county, like Cambridge and Hurlock, it’s important to give some love to the great small towns that make Dorchester County special, too. Vienna may be small, but it has a big history — and we’re glad to be a part of it!

The Dorchester Dems office is now open every Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 4–8 pm through Election Day, November 3!

Stop in to pick up free candidate signs, help with mailings, join a door-knocking team, volunteer on other projects—or just come by and chat with fellow Democrats.

We’d also love your help staffing the office. As we add volunteers, we can expand our hours even further.

We’re getting ready to open the Dorchester Dems office for regular hours through Election Day — and we need volunteers to make it possible.

We’re planning to be open Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 4–8 pm. Office volunteers will welcome visitors, help people pick up candidate signs, assist with mailings and materials, and connect people with other ways to get involved.

No special experience is needed, and even one two-hour shift helps. The more volunteers we have, the more reliably we can keep the office open — and eventually expand our hours.

Want to help register voters in Dorchester County? We’re organizing small-group certification sessions with the Dorchester County Board of Elections.

Maryland voter-registration volunteers must be re-certified each year to stay current on election laws and procedures. The training takes just 45 minutes—and once certified, you’ll be ready to register voters at community events, tabling activities, and other outreach efforts throughout the county.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱? Sign up for one of the following:
→ Wednesday, September 2 at 3:00 PM
→ Tuesday, September 8 at 2:00 PM
→ Monday, September 14 at 11:00 AM

OUR KIDS DESERVE MORE.

Recent shootings in Hurlock and Linkwood have brought the reality of violence painfully close to home. Our families deserve to feel safe in their neighborhoods, and our young people deserve the opportunity to grow up in communities where they can thrive.

No single program will prevent every act of violence. But if we're serious about building safer communities, we have to invest in the things that make communities stronger.

Safe communities.

Recreation.

Youth programs.

Safe public spaces.

Opportunities to grow and thrive.

That's where local government has a role to play.

Our County Council can help make those investments — from supporting public safety to funding recreation and youth programs and maintaining the public spaces our communities rely on.

That's why this year's County Council election matters.

We're proud to support David Beverley (CD-1), Yvonne Penn (CD-2), Ricky Travers (CD-3), and Semuel Thompson (CD-5) for Dorchester County Council.

Our youth deserve better. Dorchester deserves safer communities. And we deserve County Council members ready to do the work.

Now, he’s ready to bring that same commitment to County Council District 1.

David is running to make sure every community has fair and equal access to emergency services, better roads and infrastructure, strong property rights, support for small businesses, and a county government that puts families first.

Service isn’t a slogan. It’s a way of life.
