VERDICT IS IN! ⚖️ 🎉 Huge congratulations to our team on an incredible State Tournament! They performed at the top of their game, earning our highest finish ever - 4th place! 🏆 Special shoutouts to Ainsley Doom, named All-State Attorney, and Kaden Kaar, named All-State Witness by the judges. Your hard work and dedication truly shined! ✨
🎉 Bluejacket Mock Trial Heads to State for the fourth time in five years! After two wins at the MinneApple Invitational and an undefeated Regional season, they beat Cloquet by 9 points in the finals to secure their spot. 🏛️💪
Led by Senior Ainsley Doom, three-year captain, and Senior Kaden Kaar, the only student in school history to attend three State Tournaments, the team’s foundation is strong with Juniors Max Godeen, Averee O’Leary, Lauren Albright, and Amanda Kopp. Freshman Alice Heine shines in a major witness role, while Sophomore Maxene Vasquez and Freshmen Rachell Kopp and Sheridan Breeding bring youthful energy.
Coached by Attorney Hannah McDonald, Judge Carrie Doom, and Teacher Michael Galligan, the Bluejackets are ready to represent at State! 💙❤️

Ever wonder how Cambridge-Isanti became known as the Bluejackets? 🧥💙 The story goes back to a 1927 championship team, a group of proud community supporters, and a simple blue jacket that sparked a tradition still celebrated today.
⭐What is a "Bluejacket"?⭐ The answer to this question is proudly hung on display in front of the Cambridge-Isanti High School gym entrance. Do you know the story? 🤔 !

What is a "Bluejacket?" The Cambridge-Isanti schools nickname does not describe a ferocious animal or brave warrior, but rather an unusual name with a variety of origins. It has been linked to fast sailing ships or to the apparel that crews of these ships wore.
The true beginning of "The Bluejackets" is not as exciting as sailing the ocean. However, it speaks highly of the longtime community support and involvement the Cambridge-Isanti area has provided to its high school students over the years.
John G. Kerr, sports editor of the school newspaper "The Hub", tells the story: In 1927 the Cambridge High School basketball team consisting of Eddie Samuelson, Russ Larson, Halsey Anderson, Lye Hanson, Alden Soderman, Ralph Larson, Clinton Treichel, Paul Stanius and Blanchford Elin, won the district 16 title for the first time. In honor of this event, Dr. G.A. Anderson and a group of local businessmen purchased blue jackets with a white "CHS" on the front. The new "blue jackets" were the talk of the town. The following year, new blue warm-up suits were purchased and this added to the "blue jacket" image.
John Kerr began writing with the North Star Town Paper in 1932 and subsequently used the term "Bluejackets" when referring to Cambridge High School athletes.
Through the years, Bluejacket sports has come to stand for quality kids and quality programs. The long standing community involvement has grown to include the greater Cambridge-Isanti area, and continues to provide support for these fine young men and women. In recognition of the ever-increasing joint community involvement which exists, all high school sports teams are known as the "Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets".

🎉 Congratulations to CIHS seniors Jovie Ebertowski and Wesley Kennedy! 🎓✨
Jovie and Wesley have been selected as the 2025–2026 Academics, Arts, and Athletics (Triple “A”) selections from Cambridge-Isanti High School and will represent CIHS in the Region 7AA selection process. 🏅
Jovie Ebertowski, daughter of Shane and Jennifer Ebertowski, has excelled in AP, College in the Schools, and PSEO courses while participating in band, diving, gymnastics, and track and field. 🎵🤸♀️🏃♀️ In her application, she wrote, "My high school experience has taught me that you can find family within a team, hard work is rewarded, and setbacks are to be overcome," and her staff recommendation letter adds, "She possesses a character and personality that people around her admire. Her personal strength shines through in the way small groups of her peers look to her for guidance. Second, Jovie has the willingness to take risks in order to succeed at the highest levels demonstrating incredible courage. She is not averse to thrusting herself into a situation where she can make a difference in her teammates lives. Finally, she has a deep sense of caring and compassion. Jovie is always willing to sacrifice and be there for others good even when the going gets tough." 💖
Wesley Kennedy, son of Justin and Crystal Kennedy, has taken AP and College in the Schools courses while participating in band, choir, football, and track and field. 🎶🏈🏃 In his application he wrote, "you should always strive to make an impact on any sort of association that you are a part of. Essentially leave whatever you are a part of better than it was when you first came," and his staff recommendation letter states, "Wesley has modeled and helped create a growth-mindset culture in which all are safe to share, learn, and strive for excellence without fear of failure or judgment. He leads by example, building up others to create supportive communities of classrooms, practice rooms, playing fields, and beyond." 🌟

Cambridge-Isanti Schools is home to the Bluejackets. With unmatched community support, C-I’s vibrant school community serves approximately 5,000 students in grades pre-K-12. The district hosts 10 schools along with four-star Parent Aware rated early childhood and community education programming. C-I offers small class sizes averaging 25 students per class. An emphasis on personalized learning options, community partnerships and effective staff have earned the district high ratings for quality education. A recent community survey (2016) conducted by the market research firm, The Morris Leatherman Company, assessed the state of C-I Schools and placed the district among the top 10 percent in the state.
Survey results demonstrate high trust ratings for the district for doing what is right for children. C-I Schools also received a strong fiscal credibility rating of approximately 15-20 points higher than the state average.
The district’s graduation rate consistently trends higher than state and national averages. Since 2015, the graduation rate has exceeded 90 percent with graduating classes averaging 330 students. C-I students have the potential to earn up to 68 college credits through PSEO and college in the schools at Cambridge-Isanti High School in collaboration with five partner colleges and universities. C-I Schools is part of MSHSL, and a member of the Mississippi 8 Conference, offering more than 70 athletics and extracurricular activities.
With over half of the district’s teachers possessing a master’s degree or higher, C-I Schools provide students with multifaceted learning experiences in technology, arts, science and more. We offer two programs for students, a traditional calendar year, and a STEAM-focused year-round calendar program. These two options along with alternative learning and special education services help to serve all students’ needs. Blended learning, character education, and real-life learning opportunities continue to support an educational experience that grows students into effective, well-rounded leaders that pursue their own high expectations. Students in grades 6-12 enjoy 1:1 devices to support innovative learning. Robotics, technical arts and trades along with family and consumer sciences programs provide students with relevant experiences that help prepare them for the workforce and life.
Cambridge-Isanti Schools is an exemplary school system that continues to grow.
