Adolescent Consultation Services

Adolescent Consultation Services Since 1973, Adolescent Consultation Services has provided specialized diagnostic and therapeutic services to high-risk children and their families.

Adolescent Consultation Services (ACS) supports and empowers court-involved children and families by providing mental health prevention and intervention services to help them envision and work toward a better future. ACS was founded in 1973 in response to the specialized needs of children involved in the juvenile justice system. Throughout our first two decades, ACS served teens and families who w

ere court-involved from Cambridge and Greater Boston. The program developed expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic services and established key partnerships in the community. In 1998, ACS was awarded the contract administered by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) to provide Juvenile Court Clinic services throughout Middlesex County. Today, ACS provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, treatment services, and advocacy for high-risk kids and their families. Private support enables ACS to offer Treatment and Education & Advocacy (E&A) services at no cost to families. We connect children and families with the resources they need to overcome obstacles due to trauma, family difficulties, educational challenges, mental health issues, and substance use concerns. This is the only official page of Adolescent Consultation Services.

Don't forget to check in on your strong friend, your busy friend, your happy friend.
The ones who seem fine on the outside are often the ones whose emotional wellness gets overlooked the most. Remember strength and struggle are not mutually exclusive. The people who show up for everyone else often need someone to show up for them too. They just may never say so.

We are still buzzing from the ACS Trivia Night, and it's all because of YOU! A massive THANK YOU to every single person who showed up and brought their A-game. 14 incredible teams went head-to-head in a tight competition. Only ONE point separated the top four teams. Congratulations to "I Fought the Law and the Law Won!" who brought home the trophy! 🏆️

This night wouldn't have been possible without the amazing folks at The Dragonfly Cafe in Lowell and Just Nerdy Things Trivia. This is what community looks like, and we are so grateful to be part of it. 💚 See you next year!

Breathing exercises can help reduce stress, sharpen focus, and bring you back to the present.
Try Rainbow Breathing today. Place your finger at the bottom of the rainbow on the left. As you trace your finger along the rainbow take a deep breath in through your noise, until you reach the middle. When you reach the middle begin to exhale through your mouth, as you trace the rainbow to the end, on the right. Repeat with every color until you feel calm and grounded.

When you start to feel anxious, try repeating a phrase or mantra. If you are extremely anxious, try repeating even just one line. Repeat slowly and focus on your breathing.
6 mantras for your practice:
I am enough.
I deserve good things.
I am becoming stronger every day.
This will pass.
My potential has no limit.
I trust myself completely.
I am safe and protected.
