April is for the Poets! ✨

April has arrived, and with it, a month long tribute to the magic of the written word. Whether it’s a soul stirring sonnet, a punchy haiku, or the raw honesty of spoken word, poetry has a way of saying exactly what we feel when we can't find the words ourselves!

Take a second today to read a verse, scribble a thought in your margins, or finally buy that book of poetry you’ve been eyeing.

Let's celebrate the rhythm, the rhyme, and everything in between!🖋 📖🎤

It was such a pleasure to launch Prose & Cons Poet Society's Cohort 3!

Our 1st lesson was an introduction to Black Out Poems!

What I've found during my studies is that students often struggle with how to begin their writing. With poetry specifically, the black out method allows our students to create a poem within a poem!

We decided to dive directly into the hard hitting, yet relevant topic of the current state of our country. Our poem choice?
"Let America Be America Again"- by Langston Hughes

Our students have not only completely risen to the occasion, but they've exceeded their own expectations! We couldn't be more proud!

A HUGE thank you to our sponsor Reworld Waste for your continued support and belief in our youth!

Let's have a great year, Littles! See you next week! ✊🏽❤️📚🎉

Prose & Cons Poet's Society Cohort 3‼️

Calling all teen poets, lyricists, and truth-tellers! ✨ Prose & Cons is more than a Poet's Society, it’s a space to heal, reflect, and speak your truth. Join us each month as we use poetry as therapy and a tool for restorative justice practices, turning words into power and pain into purpose.

Come share your story, build community, and discover how writing can transform not just the page but also your life. 📚✍🏾

Open to teens of all levels.. no experience needed, just your voice! 💪🏼
