Haddon Heights Man Pleads Guilty to Sexually Abusing 3-Year-Old Child
Camden County, NJ – A Haddon Heights man has pled guilty to sexually abusing a 3-year-old child at his residence in 2025, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay.
Jason R. Anderson, 44, pled guilty on July 14, 2026, in Superior Court to one count of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault. He also pled guilty to one count of first-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child – Manufacturing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and one count of third-degree Failure to Register as a Megan’s Law Offender.
Under the terms of the plea, he is expected to be sentenced to an aggregate term of 35 years in New Jersey State Prison. Pursuant to the Jessica Lunsford Act, the defendant will be required to serve 25 years without the possibility of parole on the first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault charge. He will also be required to serve 85 percent of the remaining 10 years before being eligible for parole under the No Early Release Act. The defendant will be subject to Parole Supervision for Life (PSL) and be required to register with Megan’s Law.
On February 10, 2025, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Haddon Heights Police Department were notified that an individual reported locating photos and videos on Anderson’s cell phone that depicted him sexually abusing a 3-year-old female relative. Further investigation revealed that Anderson had shared these photos and videos under the screen name “Horny Ped” through a digital application. Anderson was arrested on February 10, 2025, and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
“The crimes committed by this defendant are unspeakable and defy comprehension,” said Prosecutor MacAulay. “Although no sentence can undo the devastating harm caused to this child, this plea agreement holds the defendant accountable while protecting the victim and her family from the ordeal of a public trial. Our hope is that they can now begin to heal and look ahead to a brighter future.”
The State was represented by Section Chief Rachael Minardi of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. The investigation was overseen by Detective Todd Jarrell of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Lieutenant Michael Smollock of the Haddon Heights Police Department.
Anderson is scheduled to be sentenced on October 30, 2026.
