TWRA says they're broke but they're adding another high paying employee. They dont have the money to plant WMAs but they're adding an assistant to the Executive Director who is retiring soon? Something fishy about this!!! This is exactly the type of mismanagement that has put TWRA in a position to have to raise licensing fees! AN ASSISTANT TO THE RETIRING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WHEN THEY'RE BROKE???? SERIOUSLY???

The WMAs aren't being managed well at all, but every year, the number of hunters drawing blinds increases. So why would TWRA put any more effort into them? Last year, total number of applicants putting in for Ky Lake area blinds (Camden, Big Sandy, Gin Creek) through the computer draw was 3,082 and this year it rose to 3737 and increase of 655 (18%). So with that rate of increase, why do anything?

PSA...Hurry if you want pictures with the sunflowers. The recent thunderstorms have beaten them down some, maybe the sun will stand them back up

There has been nothing done in the Camden Bottoms by TWRA as far as retaking the fields to help make it a better place to waterfowl hunt in 2026-27 and beyond. This year would have been the perfect year to retake the fields and make drain ditches to keep them dry to maximize crops for waterfowl and other game animals. It has been one of the dryest springs in many years yet TWRA didn't take advantage of this golden opportunity to help make Camden Bottoms great again.
