As boating season comes to a close, Boat 12 has been pulled from Lake Wateree and is headed to her winter home at Station 12.

We want to thank everyone who helped make this a busy and successful summer on the lake. While the season brought many great memories, it also included heartbreaking incidents on the water. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families who experienced the loss of loved ones this year.

Although Boat 12 is out of the water for the season, she remains ready to respond to emergencies throughout the winter months. During the off-season, she’ll receive some well-deserved maintenance and care to ensure she’s prepared for whatever comes next.

Stay safe, Lake Wateree. We’ll see you again in the spring.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost and forever changed on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years ago, our nation witnessed acts of unimaginable tragedy that claimed nearly 3,000 lives, including 343 firefighters, 60 law enforcement officers, and 8 EMS personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call to serve others.

As firefighters, we remember the courage, selflessness, and dedication displayed by those who ran toward danger when others were fleeing. Their actions continue to inspire generations of first responders across our country.

On this 25th Anniversary of 9/11, Kershaw County Fire Service honors the victims, survivors, their families, and all those who answered the call that day. We will never forget the sacrifices made and the resilience that united our nation in the days that followed.

🇺🇸 Never Forget 🇺🇸
