UPDATE: All KCFS units have cleared the scene.

🔥MUTUAL AID🔥

KCFS units are on scene in Lee County with a large hay barn fire in the 300 Block of Hatfield Rd, Dalzell. Sumter County is also assisting.

Use caution in the area as tankers fill at Hwy 441 and Cotton Acres Rd.

Congratulations to these 8 members of Lugoff Fire and Kershaw County Fire Service who today, 5/31/26, completed 16 hours of training on Basic Auto Extrication. The class was hosted at Lugoff Fire and instructed by Battalion Chief Jones and Lieutenant Tidwell. Thanks to Spartan Fire and Emergency Apparatus Inc. , City of Camden, SC Fire, and Camden Steel & Metal for your support as well to make this class happen.

UPDATE: The fire at 641 Rutledge Street has been contained and all responding units have cleared the scene.

The fire was isolated to rear structures on the property.

Cantey Call Center, located at 641 Rutledge Street, is expected to open as scheduled Monday morning.

Camden Fire Department would like to thank the Kershaw County Fire Service & Lugoff Fire Department for their assistance and support during the response.

🚨 STRUCTURE FIRE ALERT 🚨

Camden Fire Department is responding to a structure fire in the area of Rutledge Street and Church Street in downtown Camden.

Please avoid the area and use alternate routes while emergency crews are actively working.

We appreciate your cooperation and will provide updates as information becomes available.

🚧 ROADWAY UPDATE VETERANS ROW🚧

South Carolina Department of Transportation has officially reopened Veterans Row in Elgin following the completion of bridge repairs over Twenty Five Mile Creek.

The roadway had been closed while crews worked to improve and repair the bridge, and traffic is now able to resume through the area.

Please continue to use caution while traveling as drivers adjust to the reopened roadway and be alert for any remaining work crews or equipment nearby.

⚠️ ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE FIELD TRIAL⚠️

We have been informed that the bridge over Berkeley Branch on Field Trial Road has been closed. At this time, the duration of the closure is unknown.

Residents and motorists needing access to Field Trial Road should use Breezehill Road or Lawhorn Road as alternate routes until further notice.

Please use caution in the area and allow extra travel time. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

⚠️TRAFFIC ADVISORY I20⚠️

This morning around 05:30, KCFS and City of Camden, SC Fire Department responded to I20 at the 104mm Westbound for a commercial vehicle fire. Units arrived to find a tractor trailer well involved and hauling adhesive. The fire was quickly extinguished and environmental hazards were mitigated. The Department of Environmental Services was requested to respond and SCDOT is currently closing the #2 lane (slow lane) so the tow company can work safely to clean up.

Expect delays if traveling westbound around the 104mm. The lane closure is expected to 3-6 hours.
