🏠 SHERIFF’S STOREHOUSE

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office and Crisis Crew are joining together to fill a new building with something we believe in deeply, help for our community.

The Sheriff’s Storehouse will be a place where donations are collected and then put directly back into the hands of local families, children, seniors, and individuals who need a little extra help.

We have received donations over the years but we distribute them out constantly. Now that we have space we need the community’s help filling it! ❤️

You may have something sitting in your home that you don’t need anymore — but it could mean a lot to someone else!

This building isn’t about what we can collect.

It’s about what we can give.

We believe in taking care of our own, and our goal is simple

🚨 THP SEARCHING FOR FLEEING SUSPECT IN BENTON COUNTY

BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol is asking the public for help locating a 51-year-old man who reportedly fled on foot from troopers Wednesday afternoon in Benton County.

According to THP, troopers conducted a traffic stop around 1 p.m. on Highway 641 South near Shiloh Church Road.

During the traffic stop, Jeffrey Penix, 51, reportedly resisted arrest and fled on foot into a wooded area.

Authorities are continuing efforts to locate Penix.

Anyone who may have information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Tennessee Highway Patrol Jackson District Emergency Dispatch Communications Center at 731-215-6831. Callers should press 0 and ask to speak with Trooper James Barrells.

⚠️ Do not approach Penix if you see him. Contact law enforcement instead.

This is an active search, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

Community Comes Together to Support Benton County ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Eagle Buildings Sales & Service, Kim Waldorf, and owner Mark Penner for partnering with our office and donating this brand-new building for The Sheriff’s Closet.

For the past several years, we’ve been blessed to help families in Benton County through donations of clothing, hygiene items, household essentials, and other necessities. One of our biggest challenges has always been having enough space to properly store and organize those donations.

This new building changes that. Having it right here on-site will allow us to better organize donations, respond more quickly to families in need, and serve even more people in our community.

None of this would be possible without the generosity of those who donate and support our mission. Thank you for believing in what we’re doing and helping us continue to make a difference in the lives of others.
