Wilcox County E M A Alert: Wilcox County is under a Severe Thunderstorm watch until 10pm

FEMA is making $648M available to help firefighters and first responders nationwide get the equipment, staffing and support they need to protect lives and communities. The funding includes:

• $291.6M for equipment, vehicles, PPE and responder wellness
• $324M to help departments hire, recruit and retain firefighters
• $32.4M for fire prevention and firefighter safety research

Wilcox County 911/EMA has officially moved to 327 Whiskey Run Rd, Camden, AL. We are still moving all of accumulated things over the past 21 years at our previous office. Please be patient as we live out of boxes for a little while.

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a

* TORNADO WARNING ⚠️ for...
Northeastern Monroe County in south central Alabama...
Southeastern Wilcox County in south central Alabama...

* Until 230 AM CDT.

* At 151 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located 10 miles northwest of Monroeville, moving northeast at
40 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
Beatrice around 210 AM CDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
