Original: Emergency crews are on scene at a serious two vehicle head-on crash on North Highway 7 at Gypsum Drive near the Dollar General in Climax Springs. Be aware of emergency workers and be prepared for significant traffic delays. Both directions of traffic are currently shut down. If possible, choose an alternate route.

Fellow Citizens of Camden County,

School is out and summer is upon us!

Our children will be out of school and looking for activities to keep them occupied and entertained. I would very much like to invite all Camden County students going into the 5th through the 8th grades to attend our 2026 Camden County Junior Law Enforcement Academy here at the sheriff's office from July 20th to July 24th.

Each year my staff puts on an outstanding program for local students and, with your help, this year will be our best year yet. Camden County resident students from public schools, private schools, or those who are home-schooled are welcome to attend, so get your applications in as soon as possible. 🇺🇸Memorial Day Enforcement & Activity Report🇺🇸

The Camden County Sheriff's Office responded to an increased amount of activity throughout the Memorial Day weekend while working to keep residents and travelers safe.

From 05/22 through 05/25, Deputies responded to

• Over 208 calls for service
• 183 traffic stops
• 12 DWI arrests
• 11 - 24 hour holds

Thank you to everyone who traveled safely and responsibly during the holiday weekend. Deputies will increase activity as the summer time picks up!😎

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office is hiring for the position of Detention Overwatch Sergeant. The starting wage for this position is $23.74 per hour. The Camden County Sheriff’s Office is a full-service law enforcement agency located at the heart of the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. We pride ourselves on providing 24-hour police response to more than 45,000 permanent residents and millions of visitors every year.

The minimum qualifications for this position will be as follows:

1. Two years of Detention experience at another agency or six months with CCSO Detention and previous CCSO Operations Division experience.
2. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
3. No disciplinary action within the last 18 months.
4. Willing to work varying shifts to cover both rotations including some weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise the day-to-day operations and activities of the Detention Shift Supervisors, Detention Deputies, Civilian Detention Officers, and Medical Personnel.
2. Supervise and participate in the detention facility operations as required. Will review and evaluate the work of assigned personnel for accuracy and completeness.
3. This job requires the supervisor to participate in all aspects of detention operations, including booking, fingerprinting, and processing inmates into and out of the detention center.
4. Acts as an information source for the detention center’s policies and procedures.
5. Assist with training assignments, approving time-off requests, supervising, and formally evaluating the work of detention employees.
6. Reviews, prepares, and processes a variety of reports related to the detention operations.
7. Inspects the detention center for proper security and supervises the proper maintenance of the detention facility. Also maintain uniform inventory which will include issuing uniforms when they are worn and new hires.
