We would like to thank Oakstar Bank, Wal-Mart, Servpro, Laura Wright with MSU Public Safety Training Center, CADV (not pictured) and Lutheran Church Charities for all of the goodies you brought this week for National Police Week. The officers enjoyed all
of the treats.

Today, the Lake Career and Technical Center Culinary Arts students Esme Stoufer and Ronan Nielsen prepared a meal for Camdenton School Resource Officers Chris Williams, Jamee Rugen, Corry Basler, and Jessica Baughman as a thank you to the campus police officers during National Police Week.

Dishes served were comprised of a Korean inspired seafood pasta dish, a scallop alfredo pasta, and a gooseberry desert.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15th falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

During the Tuesday April 21, 2026, City of Camdenton Board Meeting officers were awarded commendations for their service. Officer Morgan and Officer Thibodeaux both received the Life Saving Award. Sgt. Brown, Officer DeYoe, Officer Baughman, Officer Rugen, Officer Basler, Officer Pleshka, Officer Williams, Sgt. Rector all received commendations for their quick and hard work resolving the school threats in March. Thank you for all your hard work!

Dogwood Parade & Detour Route.
The yellow line is the route the parade will take.
The pink line is the detour line. The roads will begin shutting down at 9:30 AM. At 9:45 AM only the detour roads will be available to get across town, and the Dogwood Parade begins at 10:00 AM.
Please pay attention for the pedestrians and the officers in the roadway.

These 2 dogs were found on the Ha Ha Tonka Cut Thru road this morning (5-9-26) around 8am. If anyone know who the owners are please call the Camdenton Police Dept at 573-346-3604

Today the High School surprised Officers Williams and Rugen with a tote bag full of treats for National SRO day. The tote bags were hand painted by students from the Art class. Thank you for recognizing these SRO’s.

National School Resource Officer (SRO) Appreciation Day is celebrated annually on February 15 to honor law enforcement officers working in schools. Established by the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO), this day recognizes SROs for their roles as mentors, law educators, and safety professionals who build positive relationships with students and staff.
