Today (Tuesday, September.1), about noon (weather pending) will be the scheduled monthly City of Camdenton storm siren test. The storm sirens may sound more than once during this test.
The next monthly City of Camdenton storm siren test is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, at noon (weather pending).
Reminder:
Storm sirens are an outdoor warning system designed only to alert those who are outside that something dangerous is approaching. For weather alerts indoors, every home and business should have a NOAA Weather Radio All-Hazards. NOAA Weather Radio is like a smoke detector for severe weather, and it can wake you up when a warning is issued for your area so you can take appropriate action.

The City was advised by MODOT that tomorrow they will be painting lines and redirecting traffic on West US Highway 54 to move to the north side of the road to begin construction on that side. There should be 3 lanes open for the remainder of the project. This will cause some delays tomorrow as they complete this process.

A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR:

At some point after last Tuesday night's Council meeting, a local 'journalist' downloaded the broadcast of the meeting. This 'journalist' then edited the video and the closed captioning and inserted several words of profanity. He also edited out the explantion of why a developer had asked for an additional .37 acres of land to be added to a parcel of 4.85 acres he had previously purchased for $499,000 from the City. I invite you to compare the 2 videos. This 'journalist' is now posting the altered version on several local pages.

As always, if you see something that you have questions about please feel free to contact me at City Hall or stop in and visit.
John McNabb, Mayor

Starting Wednesday, August 12, 2026, the City will be removing and replacing the sidewalk on the Southwest Quadrant of the square. This is the entire quadrant behind the City’s sign. This project will take 7-10 days. During this needed process, it will cause access issues to the front of these businesses. Please contact the business directly before arriving to ensure access is available. Thank you for your patience as we make much needed improvements in the area. Please send any questions to City Hall at 573-346-3600.
