On 5/25/26 at 2:51am the MCFPD was dispatched to a reported commercial fire at the Pebble Bay Club Restaurant off of Good Neighbors Road west of Camdenton. As units were responding they could see flames and smoke from several miles away indicating a working fire. MCFPD Engine 912 arrived and reported significant fire conditions with the building approximately 25% involved. First arriving unit immediately began an attack on the fire. A second alarm was also struck that dispatched additional mutual aid companies. Approximately 45 minutes after arrival the fire was brought under control. Crews then spent the next 2 hours overhauling the structure to extinguish all remaining hot spots.
Due to the size of the incident the State Fire Marshal was contacted to assist with the cause and origin investigation. The restaurant suffered extensive fire, smoke and water damage. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
The MCFPD responded with 2 Engines, 4 Tankers, a Squad and a Fireboat. We were assisted at the scene by an Engine and a Tanker from the Osage Beach FPD, and Engine from the Sunrise Beach FPD, an Engine from the Lake Ozark FPD, a Tanker from the Southwest FPD, a Tanker from the Northwest FPD and the Camden Ambulance. Additionally, the Lebanon FD responded an Engine to MCFPD Station #1 to cover calls.

This week our crews participated in CPR training with Officer Williams, continuing to build and strengthen the lifesaving skills that are so important in emergency situations. From chest compressions and rescue breathing to patient assessment and teamwork, our personnel spent time reviewing and practicing the techniques that can make all the difference when every second counts.

Ongoing training is a critical part of what we do. Emergencies can happen at any time, and it is important that our crews remain prepared, confident, and ready to respond when our community needs us most.

We would like to thank Officer Williams for taking the time to work with our personnel and help provide this valuable training. We appreciate the partnership and support in helping keep our crews ready to serve.

On April 8th 2026 at 11:28 pm the MCFPD was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Merlin Drive in the Camelot Area off of Bear Paw Road. The first Engine arrived at 11:35 pm and reported a working fire with heavy smoke showing. Crews laid hose lines and began an attack on the fire. The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes. Crews then spent the next two hours overhauling the fire to make sure that all fire areas had been extinguished.
The residence suffered extensive damage from fire, smoke and water. The structure was uninhabitable after the fire. The resident and his dog were able to get out of the house prior to FD arrival. The MCFPD responded with two Engines and three tankers and we were assisted at the scene by an Engine from the Osage Beach Fire District, an Engine from the Sunrise Beach Fire District, Camden Ambulance District and the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire was investigated by the Mid-County Fire Marshal and the Division of Fire Safety Investigation Unit. The fire is being listed as undetermined with the exact cause unknown due to the amount of damage to the structure. The last units cleared the scene at 3:13am.

Mid-County Fire Protection District would like to thank the Community Foundation of the Lake for their generous grant that was awarded to the department.

This funding will be used to purchase new brush gear for our firefighters, helping keep them safe while responding to wildland and brush fires throughout our district.

We greatly appreciate the support of the Community Foundation of the Lake and their investment in the safety of our firefighters and the community we serve.

Yesterday at 12:23 PM, crews were dispatched to a rapidly spreading brush fire on Franklin Road. The initial caller reported approximately 50 acres already burning and moving quickly.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fast-moving fire with a large home in immediate danger. Crews worked quickly to protect the structure and began cutting fire breaks, but strong winds caused the fire to repeatedly overrun those efforts.

Additional assistance was requested from the Missouri Department of Conservation, who responded with two dozers and multiple hand crews. The fire threatened several nearby homes, but thanks to coordinated efforts, all structures were successfully protected. Unfortunately, several tree stands and hunting structures were lost.

We were assisted on scene by Tri-County Fire District, Osage Beach Fire District, and the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Three firefighters sustained injuries due to extreme heat and exhaustion. Two were treated on scene by Camden Ambulance District personnel, and one was transported to Lake Regional Hospital, treated, and released.

The fire is estimated to have burned approximately 1,000 acres. The cause remains under investigation. Crews cleared the scene at approximately 8:30 PM.

While units were committed to this incident, Sunrise Beach Fire District provided station coverage at Station 1 and handled additional calls in our district.

We appreciate the support and teamwork from all agencies involved.
