We ALL should be talking about this.
While Trump keeps everyone arguing over ridiculous distractions like renaming Lake Ontario “Lake America,” there is a much more serious story happening to the men and women serving our country.
The Navy has reportedly been forced to pull money from payroll accounts to help fund Trump’s war with Iran, then scramble to backfill those accounts with other funds so our sailors still get paid.
At the same time, service members have been subjected to extraordinarily long deployments. The USS Abraham Lincoln spent more than 250 consecutive days at sea, with reports of sailors struggling with mental health and shortages of basic supplies like food and hygiene products.
And when Trump was asked whether that deployment had gone on too long?
He said it was “not nearly long enough.”
Think about that.
We constantly hear “support our troops.” Well, supporting our troops means more than waving a flag. It means demanding answers when their payroll accounts are being raided to finance a war, when they're being pushed through grueling deployments, and when the Commander in Chief dismisses concerns about what they're enduring.
Forget the damn lake.
THIS is what we should be talking about.
Our service members deserve better. This is disgraceful.
