We ALL should be talking about this.

While Trump keeps everyone arguing over ridiculous distractions like renaming Lake Ontario “Lake America,” there is a much more serious story happening to the men and women serving our country.

The Navy has reportedly been forced to pull money from payroll accounts to help fund Trump’s war with Iran, then scramble to backfill those accounts with other funds so our sailors still get paid.

At the same time, service members have been subjected to extraordinarily long deployments. The USS Abraham Lincoln spent more than 250 consecutive days at sea, with reports of sailors struggling with mental health and shortages of basic supplies like food and hygiene products.

And when Trump was asked whether that deployment had gone on too long?

He said it was “not nearly long enough.”

Think about that.

We constantly hear “support our troops.” Well, supporting our troops means more than waving a flag. It means demanding answers when their payroll accounts are being raided to finance a war, when they're being pushed through grueling deployments, and when the Commander in Chief dismisses concerns about what they're enduring.

Forget the damn lake.

THIS is what we should be talking about.

Our service members deserve better. This is disgraceful.

Exclusive: Experts and former officials say accounts are running dry, and funding a war with no clear endgame is the main challenge

Greg Abbott, Ken Paxton, and Dan Patrick have led this state for decades. The problems they are running on solving are problems they created. Texas needs new leadership.

THIS. 👏

Listen to what he says about contacting your members of Congress.

What is happening at Big Bend is a travesty — and the fact that public pressure helped force a pause proves that speaking up matters.

And now we’re learning that the Trump administration is considering handing over a piece of Yosemite National Park to a private developer so it can build a road providing access to a planned upscale development.

These are OUR national parks. They are public treasures that belong to all of us — not land to be carved up for private development or bulldozed for unnecessary projects.

Big Bend. Yosemite. It shouldn’t matter whether the threat comes from a bulldozer or a developer.

Protect our public lands.

Call your members of Congress. Make noise. Don’t assume someone else will do it.

We HAD mandatory Country of Origin Labeling for beef and pork.

Then, in 2015, the Republican-controlled Congress repealed it.

So when people ask why consumers can’t simply look at a package of beef and know whether that animal was actually born, raised and slaughtered in the United States — that’s an important part of the story.

We had mandatory labeling. Congress took it away.

Greg Abbott has some explaining to do.

When Rep. Nate Schatzline resigned his Texas House seat in July to join Abbott’s office as a senior adviser on election policy, Abbott waited weeks to call the special election for House District 93.

Then he called it on August 20 — the SAME DAY candidates had to file by 6 p.m.

Texas Democrats say they learned about the election only about three hours before the filing deadline and scrambled to get Democratic candidate Ericka Lomick’s paperwork submitted in time.

Meanwhile, Congressional District 23 has been without a voting representative since Rep. Tony Gonzales resigned in April — and Abbott STILL hasn’t scheduled its special election.

So what exactly is the standard here?

Why is filling one vacant seat so urgent that Abbott calls the election on the filing deadline itself, while hundreds of thousands of Texans in another district can go months without representation?

And there’s another question that deserves an answer:

When did Republican candidate Alan Blaylock learn about the HD-93 special election?

That isn’t an accusation. It’s a transparency question.

Who was notified? When were they notified? Was every potential candidate given the same opportunity to file?

If everything was handled fairly and aboveboard, those should be incredibly easy questions for the governor’s office to answer.

Texans deserve consistent election rules and equal representation — regardless of whether a district is Republican, Democratic, or politically competitive.

So, Governor Abbott: What’s the rush in HD-93, and what’s the holdup in CD-23?

Trump is so unserious.

At a time when Americans are struggling to afford groceries, housing, utilities, health care, and just about everything else, the President of the United States is spending his time renaming a lake.

Lake Ontario. A lake we literally SHARE WITH CANADA. 🙄

Imagine having the power of the presidency and deciding this deserves your attention while families are looking at their grocery receipts wondering how they’re going to make it to the next paycheck.

Nobody asked for “Lake America.”

We asked for an economy where working people can afford to live.

Priorities.

The executive order directs the Interior Department to update the Geographic Names Information System, changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America.

🚨 TEXAS VOTERS: CHECK YOUR REGISTRATION STATUS! 🚨

More than 1.2 MILLION Texans are currently on the state’s Voter Suspense List ahead of the November midterm election — that’s roughly 1 out of every 16 registered voters in Texas.

Being on the suspense list does NOT automatically mean you’ve lost your right to vote. But it can mean additional steps are required to confirm your address, and you don’t want to discover a problem when you show up at the polls.

Even if you’ve voted for years…

Even if you haven’t moved…

Even if you’re sure you’re registered…

CHECK YOUR STATUS.

📅 Voter registration/update deadline: October 5
🗳️ Election Day: November 3

Check yourself. Check your spouse. Check your adult kids. Check your parents. Then send this reminder to another Texas voter.

Don’t wait until Election Day to find out there’s a problem.

Some voters dropped from Texas voting rolls may not be aware until they show up to cast a ballot. More than 1.2 million Texans are on the state's Voter

Nearly 30,000 pounds of raw beef imported from Argentina was recalled after it was distributed in Texas and Florida because it entered U.S. commerce without completing the federally required import reinspection.

To be clear: USDA has not said the beef was contaminated, and no illnesses have been reported. The recall happened because a required food-safety checkpoint was missed.

But can we talk about the bigger picture here?

We keep hearing “America First.” Meanwhile, we’re importing beef from Argentina, American consumers are paying painfully high prices at the grocery store, and American cattle producers are trying to compete in the same market.

And now nearly 30,000 pounds of imported beef made it all the way into commerce without the required U.S. reinspection.

So here’s my question:

If we’re putting America First, why aren’t we putting American ranchers and American beef first?

Because “America First” shouldn’t just be a campaign slogan. 🇺🇸🐄

You gotta ask yourself
who created the policies and incentives that encouraged them to come to Texas in the first place?
