*Milam County Brown Santa Golf Tournament Recap*

What an incredible day at the Cameron Country Club for our 15th annual fundraiser! This year’s tournament was one for the books, our biggest and best yet!

Over 100 golfers in the morning
Over 50 golfers in the afternoon
Over 60 participants in the night golf
Highest amount of money ever raised in our 15-year history
Record-breaking turnout across the board!
Tournament highlights included the thrilling helicopter golf ball drop, live music from The Jams ATX, and an amazing show of community support.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible: Our generous sponsors, the dedicated volunteers, golfers, the Milam County Sheriff’s Office staff, the team at the Cameron Country Club and the many friends and supporters who came together for a great cause.

We truly could not have done it without each one of you. This was our most successful tournament yet, and we are so proud of what we accomplished together for the Brown Santa program.

This is a busy week here at the Sheriff’s Office, it’s Brown Santa Golf Week. This Saturday the tournament will begin at 7:45am, Ball Drop at 1:30pm, afternoon tee time at 2:00p, Night Golf at 8:30pm. A big thank you to The Jams ATX who will be playing under the pavilion during intermission (6:30p-8:30p) after the afternoon tee time and before night golf. Thank you for your generous donation to help make a Merry Christmas for Milam County children.

Throughout the year Milam Appraisal District staff competed in various competitions to raise money for charity. Yesterday at our monthly board meeting we presented a check in the amount of $1,500 to the David Greene Milam County Brown Santa Program.

The Brown Santa program was set up in 2010 by Sheriff David Greene to accept donations and other charitable items to provide Christmas gifts to low-income families throughout Milam County. Every year- Addison, Preston, and Andrew set up their lemonade stand to sell cold drinks. These kiddos give all the proceeds to the Brown Santa program. I personally would like to thank them for their commitment each year.

The 14th annual Sheriff David Greene Milam County Brown Santa Golf Tournament concluded this past weekend at Cameron Country Club in record breaking fashion. There were 128 golfers who participated as part of 30 teams competing. A HUGE thank you to everyone that participated and sponsored this event.

The top team comprised Warren Matous, Stephen Caffey, Dewayne David, and Brady Nelson. The second-place team was Pete Magre, Melanie Magre, Justin Sapp, Alan Patterson, and Cody Allison. Taking 3rd place is the team of Phillip Dohnalik, John Hillman, Colton Gommert, Dillan Orsag, and John Anderle. Longest Drive competition winner is Nikolas Keratsopoulos. The Closest to the Pin was Dallas Eanes. Most Accurate is Caden Harris.
