Critical Fire Weather Conditions Saturday Across NE Kansas and NW Missouri... .Low relative humidity and wind gusts around 25 MPH on Saturday afternoon, leading to critical fire weather conditions. The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 10 PM CDT this evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Missouri, Fire Weather Zones 003, 004, 005, 013, 014, 021 and 028. * TIMING...From 11 AM this morning to 10 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * WIND...Southwest around 15 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH * HUMIDITY...Between 15 and 25 percent in the afternoon

On February 3, 2026 a major fire in downtown Cameron disrupted the lives of many citizens and businesses in the area. The Cameron Fire Department sends our thoughts and prayers to all the apartment tenant’s and businesses who suffered from this event. The Department thanks all Emergency Service agencies involved for their teamwork, training, expertise, and dedication. This type of positive relationships makes a tragedy like this much easier to manage. Thank You to our local business community for the support you showed. A strong business community builds a community. The Cameron Fire Department takes their responsibility seriously protecting the citizens we serve. It takes a team to be successful. Thank you Cameron and we got your back.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Cameron School District for the drawings, breakfast and warm hospitality shown on 9/11/2025. Your efforts are truly appreciated.

It’s always uplifting to see the excitement in the kids’ faces and to have the chance to talk with them. The support and creativity from our students mean a great deal to all of us who serve the community.
