Today, the last day of our second trimester, we started a new tradition at NSA. We celebrated seniors who have earned third trimester full-time work release! This is possible because of their dedication to completing their academic classes in a timely manner - sometimes staying late and going above and beyond when necessary. Congratulations Wyatt (ABC Truss), Isaiah (Farm & Fleet), and Matthew (Jennie-O Turkey Store)!

Just before winter break, NSA's Raise Your Voice Club hosted a Green Bandana Project training. Green Bandana Project is a nationally recognized training focused on raising awareness around mental health issues, reducing stigma, and connecting students to mental health resources. Students can display their green bandanas to let their peers know that they are a trusted person who knows how and where to reach out for help or support for mental health challenges.

Students from NSA’s Raise Your Voice Club participated in the Polk County Su***de Awareness Walk this morning. It was a powerful event designed to raise awareness and end the stigma around su***de and mental health. We even got interviewed for the recap video that should be released in a few weeks. What an amazing group of young people who want to make sure our schools and our community have the support and resources they need.

Last spring, NSA students started a Raise Your Voice Club in order to raise awareness surrounding mental health and wellness. Next weekend, club members and students from NSA will be participating in the Polk County Su***de Awareness walk in Balsam Lake. If you are able, please support this group and the efforts by joining the team and making a donation. All funds go to su***de awareness and prevention work in our community!

We were so incredibly grateful last evening to have 29 past NSA graduates (ranging from years 2009-2025) come join us at our annual alumni dinner. To see their faces, hear their accomplishments & the roadblocks they have persevered through, to meet some of their children, to hear their advice for current students, and share stories from the "good old days'...THIS is why we do what we do.
