We have a road closed from Fannin Ave and 22nd St. to County Road 226A. Due to the heavy rains the culvert was washed out. This road will be closed for the time being. We will advise once the road is open again. Please seek an alternate route, thank you.

Today we received a call about a possible scam at one of the CEFCO locations. As some of you may know this is a new scam that is happening at gas stations. A small screw is placed under the nozzle and when you return the nozzle the pump does not reset and allows someone else to pump gas. This screw is not that and was installed by technicians for the pump. These pumps do reset. If you ever see this or the actual scam speak to the employees, and ensure the pump resets prior to leaveing.

Edit: it has been found that this “scam” is actually not true at all! The screws are used so the flap does not fall out on older pumps and stops the use of pushing for your gas.

At the City Council meeting on June 1st 2026, officers Christopher Ashworth and Jason Organ were awarded the Life Saving Medal for their actions back on January 21st 2026. The officers quick response and utilization of Narcan saved the life of a juvenile who was rushed to the hospital for an overdose. The juvenile survived and is improving.
