City of Cameron

City of Cameron Cameron offers a warm friendly community to those that work and live here. Welcome to Cameron, Texas! Cameron is a great place for a home, family and business.

Cameron is the county seat located on the Little River in North Central Milam County. Our hometown is a peaceful, friendly and civic-minded community nestled in the heart of an abundance of rivers, lakes, and wonderful outdoor country living. The downtown has experienced a continuing renovation that began with the historic courthouse and our very own 1891 Victorian-style building that is now Camer

on City Hall McLane Municipal Center. Thanks to the generosity of the McLane Family, the new building was completed in 2002. Visitors and new residents contact or visit the Cameron Area Chamber of Commerce for more helpful information.

Please do NOT use phone tap payments such as Apple Pay, Samsung Wallet, Google Wallet or Cash App to pay utility bills! The credit card fee will be declined which causes a hold to be put on the funds by the service you are using. It can take minutes to several days to receive money back.

From Mayor Fuchs: Since the City of Cameron appears on this list, I’d like to provide some additional context. First, our audit has been completed and will be presented at Monday’s City Council meeting.

Like many cities across Texas, Cameron received federal funds during the last fiscal year. Because of that, the city was required to undergo what is known as a “Single Audit” rather than a standard annual audit. A Single Audit is significantly more complex, as it requires auditors not only to review the city’s financial statements, but also to examine how federal funds were spent and verify compliance with the extensive federal requirements tied to those funds.

Because of that added level of review and testing, the federal government allows up to 270 days for completion of a Single Audit, while the state is referencing a 180-day deadline. That has created a difficult situation where we are essentially trying to comply with two different timelines from two different levels of government (all while the AG is in a Senate primary runoff campaign).

🚨Among the cities are: Bedias, Franklin, Centerville, Somerville, and Hearne.

🌸☀️ Let’s take a look at one of Cameron’s great spaces… 🌿

There’s just something special about this time of year—it has us all looking for places to get outside, slow down, and spend a little more time together.

Right here in our hometown, Lions Centennial Park is the perfect spot to do just that. Pack a picnic, fire up the BBQ, bring the kids, and make a day of it. 🧺🍔 It’s a space made for making memories.

💚 This spring, let’s move, get outdoors, and enjoy the simple things—right here in Cameron.
