Over the past several months, concerned citizens and the Camilla Housing Authority have contacted the Camilla Police Department regarding ongoing illegal drug activity, gang-related activity, aggravated assaults, property damage, and gunfire occurring within Housing Authority properties.

In response to these concerns, the Camilla Police Department initiated investigations into multiple criminal activities occurring within the community. Due to the increasing level of violent crime and illegal narcotics activity, the Camilla Police Department requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement office.

Through the ongoing partnership between the Camilla Police Department, the GBI, and the Camilla Housing Authority, multiple felony arrests have been made during the investigation.

The Camilla Police Department would like to recognize and thank the Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office and the Camilla Housing Authority for their continued partnership and support in helping maintain the safety and well-being of the residents of Camilla.

Anyone with information regarding criminal activity in their neighborhood is encouraged to contact the Camilla Police Department at (229) 336-2201 or leave a message through the Camilla Police Department page.

Saturday, the Camilla Police Department proudly hosted a Women’s Fi****ms Course, empowering women in our community with the skills and confidence to handle fi****ms safely and effectively.

Our Instructors were thrilled to lead a hands-on, informative course where participants learned everything from firearm safety to shooting techniques, all in a supportive and encouraging environment. This event was a huge success, with participants walking away more knowledgeable, prepared, and confident in their abilities.

A big thank you to all the women who attended and to our Instructors, Captain Drew Davis and Inv. Danielle Chason, for their dedication and commitment to ensuring everyone’s safety and success. We look forward to more events like this in the future!
