Collaboration Makes Us Better! 🤝📊

A group of 12 CFOs and Finance Directors from school districts across the Southwest Georgia RESA region recently wrapped up a series of three summer collaboration sessions hosted by the Mitchell County Board of Education.

These school finance professionals shared ideas, resources, and best practices on year-end fiscal reporting, audit preparation, payroll, budgeting, and more. With both veteran and newer finance leaders at the table, the sessions provided valuable opportunities for technical assistance, problem-solving, and learning from one another.

We’re proud to be part of a region where school finance professionals work together, share their knowledge, and support one another—all in service of stronger schools and student success! ❤️💙

Our first Coaches Collaborative for the 26-27 school year was all about connection, reflection, and strengthening our coaching practices!

Coaches worked through real-world scenarios in a Four Corners activity, exploring Heavy Coaching, Light Coaching, Mini Cycles, and Full Coaching Cycles and thinking intentionally about the right coaching approach for different situations.

We also explored Jim Knight’s Partnership Principles and how they help us build meaningful, trusting partnerships with teachers. Much of our professional learning this year will be grounded in Jim Knight’s work on instructional coaching, using his new IC Toolkit to strengthen and guide our coaching practices.

What a great start to the year as we continue to build a shared vision for instructional coaching across Mitchell County School System! 🦅✨

Our 2025–2026 Grades 3–12 Georgia Milestones data gives us so much to celebrate across Mitchell County School System! From strong gains in math and science to students outperforming RESA and state averages, our Eagles continue to show what is possible when we work together with a shared focus on student success. ❤️💙

We’re also proud to celebrate positive post-school outcomes for students with disabilities and the continued partnership of our families—reminding us that student success extends far beyond a single test score.
