The Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District is a state agency comprised of farmers, landowners, and community leaders that are dedicated to the conservation, wise use, and protection of natural resources in the Flint River Basin.

Join us on July 1 at UGA Extension Grady County - FACS for trapping demos and advice from wildlife experts. This event is perfect for Georgia farmers and landowners invested in protecting the state's land and ecosystems.

The Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District was pleased to participate in the Annual Farm and Field Day hosted by the Southwest Georgia Project on April 23-24. The annual event attracts farmers, the community, and stakeholders from across the region. This year, Soil Health Coordinator Taylor Sinquefield joined a panel to discuss the District's various conservation initiatives.

We loved attending the ACF Waters Conference April 28-20 in Albany. Executive Director Perri Cooper shared with attendees the Skywater Partnership's ongoing collaborative work at the Radium Springs garden. This project aims to maintain flow at Radium Springs by promoting and adopting voluntary conservation initiatives in the surrounding area.

On April 24, second-grade students from Pataula Charter Academy participated in 2026’s Destination Ag. This event, hosted by ABAC's Georgia Museum of Agriculture, helps students understand the role agriculture and natural resources play in everyday life. This year’s program taught students about Georgia’s pollinators and forestry industry. Flint River SWCD is proud to announce the recipients of our 2026 Education Grant! This year, Bainbridge High School’s Tracy Champagne and Stephanie Harvey at Martin Luther King Jr Elementary’s OASIS after-school program in Albany were each awarded $1,000 to support specialized, hands-on programming focused on agricultural and environmental topics. Abby Bodiford and Emma McBrayant recently represented the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District at 4C Academy's Ag Futures Day. During the event, students visited various booths to gain insight into the many career opportunities available within the agriculture industry.

"We enjoyed the opportunity to engage with the students and share more about our work in conservation," stated Abby Bodiford, Smart Irrigation and Education Coordinator.
