Lunch and Learn: She Matters Breast Cancer Awareness Presentation. Please join us on Tuesday, September 15, from 11:30am-1pm. This event is free and lunch will be provided. Registration is required.
She Matters® is a community outreach program that educates women on the importance of breast cancer screenings. She Matters® is made up of Community Health Workers (CHWs) that go into the community they live in and encourage/help women to schedule a mammogram. The CHWs provide support by going to appointments and staying in the waiting room until the mammogram is completed. CHWs also make annual phone calls to remind patients of their upcoming appointment. The Upstate Mobile Mammography van will be at Maxwell on October 1. She Matters can help you schedule your appointment on the van!
1 in 8 women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime. Breast Cancer is the MOST COMMON CANCER amongst American Women and the SECOND LEADING CAUSE of cancer death.

Stop in as a family to play board games, make creations with our LEGOs, try out one of our tech toys, read together, make a craft together, and play with the toys available at the library. Get book recommendations from Youth Services Librarian Melissa, and share ideas for future programs we could offer. This event is free and no registration is required.

Summer is almost over, but Karagöz isn’t ready to leave vacation behind! When Hacivat helps him get ready for school, Karagöz discovers that school is about more than homework—it’s also about kindness, friendship, respect, and helping one another.

Join puppeteer Mücahide Akarvardar for a fun and silly journey through the beloved tradition of Turkish shadow puppetry, filled with laughter, cultural discovery, and a positive start to the new school year! 🇹🇷✨

Starting Tuesday, September 8th, embark on an adventure through all Onondaga County Libraries with OCPL: The Passport! 📚

This initiative has two awesome goals:
1) Discover every public library in Onondaga County!
2) Collect unique trading cards from each one!

Grab your passport tracker, first sticker, and fun-fact trading card at any OCPL library. Then, visit as many libraries as you can to collect more! Keep an eye out for bonus trading cards at outreach events. Collect 30 stickers and you’ll earn a prize!
