This morning, Lower Allen DFRS and Lower Allen Township Emergency Medical Services were proud to present a donation to the Camp Hill Challenger Baseball League from the proceeds of our Autism Awareness shirt fundraiser.

In April, Lower Allen EMS partnered with Artistic Imprints to design and sell Autism Awareness shirts, with all proceeds dedicated to supporting this outstanding organization.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support a program that provides children and adults with special needs the chance to learn, play, and be part of a team.

A special thank you goes out to Paramedic Jacob Meyer for his efforts to organize this fundraiser!

Squad 12 responded to a reported rollover crash with entrapment at the intersection of Lower Allen Dr. and Gettysburg Rd.

Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle on its side with the driver already self-extricated. Company 12 units operated on scene alongside assisting units from Company 30.

Thank you to Upper Allen Assistant Chief Kris Kaminski for the generous donation of Gatorade. Over the past several years, Kris has organized “Operation Hydration,” collecting donated beverages and supplies to help keep firefighters throughout our region properly hydrated.

Water and electrolyte drinks are essential year-round, especially during the summer months when crews are operating in extreme heat and demanding conditions. We greatly appreciate the continued support for the health and safety of our firefighters.

⚠️ E-Bike & E-Scooter Safety Reminder ⚠️

Yesterday, DFRS crews responded to an electric bike fire.

As the popularity of electric bikes and scooters continues to grow, so do the risks associated with improper use, charging, and storage.

Lithium-ion batteries can ignite rapidly and produce intense fires if damaged, overcharged, or used with improper equipment. To help keep your family safe:

• Only use manufacturer-approved chargers and batteries
• Never charge devices near exits or inside living areas
• Do not leave batteries charging unattended or overnight
• Inspect batteries for damage, swelling, or overheating
•Never store in living areas of your home
• Store e-bikes and e-scooters away from combustible materials
• Wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws while riding

If you notice smoke, unusual odors, sparking, or excessive heat from a battery, disconnect the power source if safe to do so and call 911!

Today, LA DFRS crews participated in the Drive For Heartbeats Golf Tournament for the Peyton Walker Foundation.

The Peyton Walker Foundatuon works closely with out community to bring AED’s to areas where kids play and practice to prevent sudden cardiac arrest. Thank you to the organizers and sponsors of the The Peyton Walker Foundation for organizing a great event for a great cause!

Great training with Lower Allen Township Emergency Medical Services this week!

Last week DFRS career members were in attendance of the FDNY search and rescue field medicine symposium along side our township EMS staff.

Training like this gives our members the chance to train for low frequency high acuity calls with high fidelity training props that wouldn’t be offered in areas around the south central region.

Lower Allen has always been committed to providing the best service possible to the community and these opportunities help members improve that service.

For the second consecutive day, Squad 12 transferred across the river to provide coverage for the Lower Paxton Bureau of Fire while they operated at a working fire, assisting Progress Fire Company today.

A separate crew remained in the township to continue providing coverage for our local community.
