Combat/Kickboxing beginning Monday; June 1st 5:30-6:30 PM at the Center Annex

We are so excited to welcome Maribeth Gutshall back to the Center for Hope and Healing as she helps us continue creating opportunities for healing through movement, connection, and wellness. Maribeth brings such a supportive, encouraging energy and a genuine passion for helping others reconnect with their strength — both physically and emotionally.

Fitness has been Maribeth’s passion for more than 15 years. Having survived her own medical trauma, she deeply understands how important movement and staying active can be in the healing process. As a group fitness and personal trainer, she loves motivating others to push past limitations, build confidence, and move toward healthier, more empowered lives. Combat/Kickboxing is one of her favorite classes to teach because of the strength, stress release, and confidence it can help build in others.

Outside of the gym, Maribeth loves staying active, enjoying beach days, loving on dogs, and embracing all things Disney. 💛

Join us for Combat Fitness — a beginner-friendly weekly class designed to improve both physical and emotional wellness through guided movement, cardio, strength building, and healthy stress release techniques inspired by combat-style fitness training. This class is not about aggression — it is about empowerment, resilience, confidence, and reconnecting the mind and body in a safe, trauma-informed environment.

Research continues to show the strong connection between aerobic movement and improvements in depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, stress management, confidence, and overall mental health. Whether you are looking to reduce stress, reconnect with your body, gain confidence, or simply take one healthy step forward, this class welcomes you exactly as you are.

🥁✨ RESTORATIVE RHYTHMS — THIS FRIDAY AT NOON ✨🥁

Sometimes healing doesn’t begin with words… sometimes it begins with rhythm.

Join us this Friday at noon for Restorative Rhythms, a powerful drumming and percussion experience designed to promote emotional healing, stress relief, connection, and self-expression through music. Center for Hope and Healing is excited to welcome Dani Fiore, founder of Empowered Music LLC, a music lesson studio and the first proudly LGBTQ-inclusive music school in Central PA to facilitate our experience !

Through shared rhythm, participants are invited to release tension, reconnect with themselves, and experience the calming and energizing effects of music in a supportive, judgment-free space. Research continues to show that rhythm and percussion can help regulate the nervous system, reduce anxiety, improve mood, and foster a greater sense of grounding and connection.

No musical experience is necessary — just come as you are. 🧡
All instruments are provided.

Whether you are carrying stress, grief, overwhelm, or simply looking for a healthy outlet and meaningful connection, this group offers a unique opportunity to heal through the universal language of rhythm.

Not letting the rain dampen the spirit of helping the pups today at Peace, Love & Poms golf fundraiser! 🐾☔️

A little rain is nothing compared to the love, care, and second chances these sweet dogs deserve. Grateful for rescues like this that remind us how healing compassion can be — for animals and humans alike. ❤️

Every wagging tail, every rescued life, and every act of kindness matters! Today the award goes to the golfers who braved the rain and cold for the cause!

At Center for Hope and Healing, we understand something powerful about healing: sometimes the deepest healing happens in the presence of those who never say a word.

This is one of the many reasons we proudly support animal rescues like HART, All Seated At The Barn, The Ashers House and Peace Love and Poms.

Animals have an incredible ability to help soothe the nervous system, reduce anxiety, increase connection, and remind us what unconditional love and safety can feel like again. For many people who have experienced trauma, trust can feel fragile. Yet animals often meet us without judgment, without expectations, and without words — creating a sense of comfort and emotional safety that can be deeply therapeutic.

But there is another reason this connection matters so much to us.

Many rescued animals have also experienced neglect, abandonment, fear, abuse, instability, or trauma. And yet… with patience, consistency, compassion, and care, we watch them slowly learn to trust again. We watch them begin to feel safe. We watch them heal.

There is something profoundly hopeful about witnessing healing happen — in both humans and animals.

Trauma may change a story, but it does not have to define the ending.

The journey of a rescued animal often mirrors the healing journey of many survivors:
✨ Learning that safety exists again
✨ Discovering that gentleness can be trusted
✨ Realizing they are worthy of love and care
✨ Finding connection after pain
✨ Slowly coming back to life after survival mode

Healing is healing.
Whether it walks on two legs or four.

Thank you to the rescues, fosters, volunteers, and advocates who dedicate themselves to helping vulnerable animals find safety, healing, and belonging again. The work you do matters more than words can express.

Mindful Movement

Tonight at 5 PM at the Center Annex

At Center for Hope and Healing, we believe healing is not only something we talk through — it’s something we learn to feel safely within our bodies again.

Trauma often lives beyond words. It can show up as anxiety, chronic stress, panic, emotional numbness, sleep difficulties, muscle tension, hypervigilance, or feeling disconnected from yourself and others. Mindful Movement creates gentle opportunities to reconnect the mind and body in ways that feel safe, empowering, and restorative.

Unlike traditional exercise classes, this experience is not about perfection, flexibility, or performance. It is about learning to slow down, breathe intentionally, listen to your body, and create moments of calm in a world that can often feel overwhelming.

Participants may experience benefits such as:

Reduced stress and anxiety
Increased grounding and emotional regulation
Improved sleep and relaxation
Greater body awareness and self-compassion
Decreased physical tension held from trauma and chronic stress
A renewed sense of connection, safety, and balance

Our Mindful Movement classes are designed to meet you exactly where you are. Whether you are brand new to yoga or returning after years away, you will be welcomed into a gentle, supportive, judgment-free environment focused on healing — not performance.

Healing does not always happen through words alone. Sometimes healing begins with a single breath, a softened shoulder, a quiet moment of stillness, or the realization that your body deserves compassion too.

Come move, breathe, and heal with us. Your nervous system deserves care, too.

✨ WOVEN LETTERS ✨
A Therapeutic Art Experience with Diana Robinson & John Davis

What if you could create a love letter to yourself — not with perfection, but with honesty, healing, and hope?

Join us for a deeply meaningful therapeutic art group where creativity becomes part of the healing process. Through weaving, texture, color, written affirmations, and artistic expression, participants will create a one-of-a-kind visual reminder of their strength, resilience, and worth.

As each piece is interwoven together, so are the parts of ourselves that may have been hurt, silenced, overlooked, or forgotten. This experience is about reclaiming your voice, reconnecting with your identity, and learning to hold yourself with compassion.

💛 No artistic experience needed
💛 Judgment-free and emotionally safe space
💛 Focus on healing, empowerment, self-worth, and connection
💛 All materials provided

Healing is not about becoming perfect.
It is about learning to see yourself with gentleness again.

Come create. Reflect. Heal. We would love to have you join us. ✨
