Are you ready to turn your lived experience into a powerful tool for helping others? Do you have experience within the criminal justice system and a passion for supporting individuals on their recovery journey? This unique training opportunity may be the perfect next step for you!

Join us for the Forensic Peer Support (FPS) Training, a comprehensive virtual training designed to prepare individuals with lived experience to provide meaningful peer support to people involved in the criminal justice system.

🎓 Facilitated by PMHCA (Pennsylvania Mental Health Consumers' Association)
Forensic Peer Support combines the power of lived experience, recovery, and peer support to help individuals navigate challenges related to mental health, substance use, and justice system involvement. Participants will gain valuable knowledge and skills to support others from the earliest stages of justice involvement through successful community re-entry.

During this training, participants will learn how to:
✅ Support individuals during their involvement in the criminal justice system
✅ Promote recovery, self-advocacy, and empowerment
✅ Advocate for people receiving behavioral health services when they may be unable to advocate for themselves
✅ Educate criminal justice stakeholders about mental health recovery and peer support principles
✅ Inspire hope and resilience through shared lived experiences
✅ Help individuals identify strengths and build pathways toward recovery and community reintegration

This training is ideal for individuals who want to make a positive impact in their communities, support recovery-oriented systems of care, and use their personal experiences to help others find hope and success.
📌 Important Eligibility Requirement:
Participants must have lived experience within the criminal justice system. Following your interest submission, additional information will be provided to help determine whether this training is the right fit for you.
