As families transition into new routines during PCS season, MCCS programs and events help make it easier to connect, explore, and find your rhythm in the community. The MCCS Summer Reading Program Kickoff presented by Raising Cane’s is a great way to get involved!

This year’s theme is Plant a Seed, Read, and we’re kicking things off on Monday with hands-on fun inspired by stories, creativity, and growth:
🌱 Seed planting – take home your very own seed and watch it grow
🎯 Feed the farm animal footbag toss
🐷 Farm animal puppet play – create your own stories with finger puppets
🎨 Plant-themed crafts
🚒 Plant a safety seed with the Camp Lejeune Fire Department
🌿 Explore ways to grow with MCCS resources

June 8 | 2-4PM | Harriotte B. Smith Library

Open to authorized patrons of all ages. Drop in anytime during the event. No registration required.

Luke Tate, MCCS Lejeune-New River Food & Beverage Division, was recently presented the MCCS Unsung Hero Award by George Williams, Assistant Chief of Staff, MCCS MCIEAST.

Mr. Tate showed remarkable calmness and care while working at Marston Pavilion recently when a young guest suffered a deep cut while fishing with friends nearby. He quickly stepped in to clean and dress the wound and shared a personal experience to ease the child’s fears. His compassion and steady presence provided much‑needed reassurance to both the children and their parents during a stressful moment.

His selfless actions exemplify the highest standards of customer care and truly embody what it means to be an MCCS Unsung Hero. Congratulations!

Hard work pays off. Congratulations, graduates! 🎓

If you’re new to the area, getting settled often means finding your rhythm in a new place and reconnecting with long-term goals like education. This Friday, we’ll celebrate one of those milestones as we recognize graduates from across our military community at the Commanding General’s Off-Duty Voluntary Education Graduation Ceremony.
