The Yavapai-Apache Nation

The Yavapai-Apache Nation The Yavapai-Apache Nation is located in the Verde Valley of Arizona. The Yavapai-Apache Nation is comprised of two distinct people, the Yavapai and Apache.

The Yavapai refer to themselves as Wipuhkโ€™aโ€™bah and speak the Yuman language, while the Apache refer to themselves as Dilโ€™zheโ€™e and speak the Athabaskan language. In 1875, our ancestors were forcefully removed from our ancestral homelands in Central Arizona. Today, we continue to reclaim those lands and the culture that was taken from us during the removal. The Yavapai-Apache Nation is located in

the Verde Valley and is comprised of five (5) tribal communities: Tunlii, Middle Verde, Rimrock, Camp Verde and Clarkdale. With more than 2,300 enrolled tribal members, the Yavapai-Apache Nation has used its ability through gaming revenues from Cliff Castle Casino-Hotel to develop its communities, provide educational, social and economic services to tribal members and improve the quality of life on the reservation. With one of the most diverse economic markets in the Verde Valley, the Yavapai-Apache Nation provides employment and other economic benefits to the surrounding communities, and supports many organizations including Boys & Girls Club, Toys for Tots, local schools and many more.
