Please read!! Very important information!!

As many of you know, CodeRED – Wilkin County’s emergency notification system experienced a worldwide security breech last month and the system was decommissioned. Wilkin County is now working with Smart911 (Rave Solutions) to provide emergency notifications.

The system is called “Wilkin Alerts”. Similar to CodeRED -this system will allow the Sheriff’s Office to send timely information directly to residents via text, email or phone about severe weather, threats to public safety, and other emergency situations.

County residents will need to register with Wilkin Alerts to receive messages. Data from the old CodeRED system did not transfer to the new system.

To register – text “wilkinalerts” (all one word – lowercase) to 226787 or visit https://wilkincounty.gov/wilkinalerts
