Food Web Investigation!

Students in Mrs. Booe and Mrs. Milby’s science classes kicked off their learning about food webs with a hands-on owl pellet investigation!

Students became scientists as they examined and dissected owl pellets, uncovering bones and other clues to determine what owls eat. They used their findings to explore predator-prey relationships and how organisms are connected within an ecosystem.

A hands-on investigation that was definitely a hoot! πŸ¦‰πŸŒΏ

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Shout Out Mr. Forbis! Excited to have you at CMS!

FRESH FACE FRIDAY: Join us in welcoming Pfc. Daniel Forbis, 21, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, to the Kentucky Army National Guard!

Forbis recently graduated from basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where he graduated with honors and earned the title of Iron Soldier. He will serve with Bravo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 138th Field Artillery Brigade, 38th Infantry Division Artillery, as a cannon crewmember (13B).

He decided to join the Guard not only to pursue his education goals, but also to better himself and serve his fellow Kentuckians.

β€œI’m looking forward to serving my community, my state and being able to make a difference,” Forbis said. β€œMy biggest priority as far as a career is serving others and finding a way to help people in whatever capacity I can.”

He currently works in education while finishing his degree at Northern Kentucky University.

Congratulations, Pfc. Forbis, on this achievement. Thank you for answering the call to serve your community, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and our nation. We’re proud to have you on the team and look forward to seeing all you’ll accomplish.

Welcome to the Kentucky Army National Guard!

Digging into Holes in the Learning Hub! πŸ•³οΈπŸ“š

Our 5th and 6th graders took on a STEM challenge: build a tool that could move as much β€œdirt” as possible in just 30 seconds. Their supplies? One notecard, four popsicle sticks, two rubber bands, and one piece of masking tape.

There were some creative designs, a lot of testing, and plenty of cheering when it was time to dig! The tool that moved the most dirt took the win. πŸ†

Hands-on experiences like this bring learning to life and create memories our students won’t soon forget. We loved seeing the excitement, curiosity, and smiles all around!

Just another GREAT day to be a CMS Eagle! πŸ’œπŸ’›

Early Humans in Action!

6th grade students in Mrs. Milby and Mrs. Booe’s classes have been learning how early humans survived by hunting, gathering, and adapting to their environments. Students also explored how early humans created and used tools to meet their needs.

Students worked in groups to create their own tools and then used them to β€œhunt” animal crackers and β€œfish” for Goldfish.

Learning history is always more fun when you can experience it!

πŸ’§πŸš° Making a Splash with Career Exploration! πŸš°πŸ’§

Our CMS JAG 7th Grade and iEagle students recently got an inside look at the many career opportunities available through the Campbellsville Water Department!

Students learned about the important work happening behind the scenes to provide clean, safe water to our community and discovered the variety of skills and careers that help keep our city running. From hands-on learning to real-world career connections, our students are seeing that there are so many pathways to a successful future! 🌟

A huge Eagle THANK YOU to the Campbellsville Water Department for welcoming our students, sharing your expertise, and helping us connect classroom learning to careers in our community! And a huge shout out to Mrs. Grubesic for getting our students out of the building and helping shape their futures!

Explore. Discover. Dream. Soar! πŸ¦…πŸ’œπŸ’›
