Yesterday, we spent several hours getting our annual OC-Pepper Spray Training. We as Deputies have to be trained in order to carry and use these items only as a last resort. Thank you to all that was involved and special thanks to Chief Mann of Marion County Detention Center with his knowledge and willing to train others.

Today at Taylor County Detention Center, we say Happy Retirement to Lt. Kevin Wilson. He has been with the Taylor County Sheriffs office and Taylor County Detention Center for 27 years of dedicated service. He will surely be missed by all of his friends here. Thank you Lt. for all of your hard work and dedication, you will be truelly missed. From all of us here at TCDC we wish you a Happy Retirement !!

Congratulations to these 2 men for completing their MRT Anger Management class. Both will receive 90 days off of their final sentence and possess the knowledge of what to do and what not to do in certain situations they may encounter. Great job !!! Good luck in both of your futures.

Late post : Yesterday our workers w**d eated the city lake. We do this once every few months or before special events that are coming up to make it look better as well for anyone wanting to fish. Just so everyone can have a better experience while they are there. Thanks guys keep up the good work !!

Congratulations to these ladies for completing the Parenting Classes offered at Taylor County Detention Center. Upon completion of these and other classes we have, they will receive 90 days off of their final sentence. Great job ladies and good luck in your futures !!

Check out the announcer buildings at Trace Creek Softball fields. A little pressure washing, paint and some work have made a world of difference. It's the little things done throughout our community that make it look better. Thanks guys for all your hard work. If you have any kidos wanting to play softball get in touch with Kelsey Cook !! Thank her for setting this project up.

Grilling some hot dogs for the inmates today at the jail. Something different since today is the 4th. Enjoying this weather, watching the parade and even seen some planes do a flyover with smoke. If your out today and tonight be safe !!

Picking trash on Hwy 76 today. Went approx. 2 miles and got close to 8 bags of trash. Please be mindfull if you see our guys out on the road picking trash up.

So many lives, lost way too soon.

Tomorrow begins National Police Week. It’s a time to recognize those who serve in law enforcement – to celebrate the courage they demonstrate every single day, and to express our gratitude for the sacrifices they make.

Wi******er Police have had 2 line of duty deaths in our history. We do not want to add to that total. Sadly, 246 officers died in the line of duty in 2022 in the United States. 246 families will travel to Washington D.C. to see their hero's name etched in the national police memorial.

Let us honor and remember our law enforcement officers this week who made the ultimate sacrifice, protecting and serving their communities. Especially, our 9 Kentucky fallen from 2022 (source: www.odmp.org)
