Time to get creative! It's Autumn Craft Day at the library! Join Kentucky Science Center Play Specialist Deanna on Thursday, October 1 at either 10 AM or 3 PM in the TCPL Children's Activity Room to create a fall craft.

Before the Program:
Before arriving, go on a nature hunt for some items for our craft. For example, you could collect small twigs, colorful leaves, seeds and berries, small branches, moss, clover, acorns, or pinecones. Please ensure everything is bug free before bringing it into the library!

At the Program:
You will build your very own nature sculpture, fall wreath, flower bouquet, stick people, autumn mobile, or whatever your imagination decides! The Kentucky Science Play2Go will provide all the supplies you need, such as glue, strings, or paper.

Eddie Miles and The Steel Country Boys bring a classic country sound and a little bit of rock to Taylor County Public Library's annual, can't-miss musical event. Join us at Miller Park Amphitheater for Pickin' in the Park on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Spooky Story Contest Details Guidelines:
- Ages 7-12
- MUST be original and written by author (no AI)
- 500 word maximum
- No inappropriate content

Prizes:

Brown Bag Book Club is a (mostly) fiction book club at TCPL. We enjoy refreshments and book talk the first Thursday monthly at 12 PM in the Community Room. Books are provided by the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives and may be check out at the TCPL front desk.

Sifu Dan and assistant Mary are bringing martial arts to the library this September! Our first class for adults begins tomorrow, September 22. Here are the details.

With more than 33 years of martial arts experience, Sifu Dan will introduce the fundamentals of martial arts, including punches, blocks, kicks, and practical movement. Classes will explore Southern and Northern-style Kung Fu forms, along with the self-defense applications behind those movements. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn Qi Gong and Tai Chi exercises.

Wear comfortable workout clothing that allows you to move freely. Lightweight workout shoes or barefeet are encouraged. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
