Another successful night of recruit firefighter training. We remain committed to providing our team with the training and skills they need before responding to incidents. Recruits serve under the guidance of experienced personnel while working toward their certifications.

Tonight’s training focused on ground ladder operations and salvage techniques, building the knowledge and confidence needed to safely and effectively serve our community.

Recruit class pushed through the heat and humidity today working on hose advancement and fire extinguisher skills.

Thanks to the crews that came out and helped with training today. This class is getting close to being released to respond on calls and continues to make great progress.

Over the next couple of months, we’ll be getting these firefighters certified and advancing to medical training.

Today, Campbellsville Fire-Rescue hosted a Large Animal Rescue class taught by State Fire Rescue Training, District 14

Thanks to the instructors for sharing their knowledge and experience, and thanks to everyone who attended and took part in the training. Opportunities like this help keep our responders prepared for the unique challenges we may face in the field.

This is one of those times we can share some good news. Due to HIPAA, we usually can’t talk about EMS calls, but this was a successful joint effort between Fire and EMS that resulted in ROSC.

What most people don’t see are the countless times Fire and EMS work side by side to help someone on what may be the worst day of their life. While not every call has the same outcome, our crews give their all on every response.

Whether it’s a medical call, MVC, technical rescue, or structure fire, it’s all about the patient. Fire and EMS are on the same page—working together to provide the best possible care for our community.

That’s what we do, day in and day out.

❤️🚑 Cardiac Arrest Survivor ❤️🚑

On May 22, Campbellsville-Taylor County EMS along with Campbellsville Fire & Rescue responded to a critically ill patient experiencing severe respiratory distress. Shortly after our arrival, Mr. Alec Dempewolf suffered respiratory arrest that progressed to cardiac arrest.

As soon as Mr. Dempewolf went into cardiac arrest, immediate resuscitation efforts were initiated by responding EMS and fire personnel. Through rapid intervention, teamwork, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) measures, return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) was successfully achieved prior to arrival at the hospital.

Today, we are proud to share that Mr. Dempewolf has been discharged from the hospital, has no neurological deficits, and is back to being his normal self with his family.

Calls like these remind us why training, preparation, and teamwork are so important. While no single person can take credit for a successful outcome, this incident highlights what can be accomplished when dedicated professionals work together toward a common goal.
