Sharpe Fire update, 05/19/2026 11:30am:
Size: 16,240 acres burned in Colorado (acreage in Colorado is being counted separate from acreage burned in Oklahoma)

Location: South of Springfield, CO
The Sharpe fire. located in Baca County south of Springfield, CO, remains 16,240 acres this morning with 0% containment. Last night, the Pueblo Interagency Zone Type 3 Team assumed command of the Sharpe Fire to help give some relief to the local responders who have been fighting this fire since Sunday. The team will be providing logistical and overhead support to firefighters continuing to work to contain this fire. Today, fire crews will be conducting mop up operations to further strengthen firelines that were put in by local fire crews when this fire came across the border from Oklahoma to Colorado. Weather today is expected to be windy but cooler with higher humidity which will help the firefighting efforts.
Update/clarification: The Pueblo Interagency Zone Type 3 Team will be managing only the area of the Sharpe fire that is burning in Colorado. This includes firefighting activities, counting of acreage (in Colorado only) and containment.
