We Have Free Smoke Detectors. Every home should have a working Smoke Detector. If you have Smoke Detectors, check them often. If you need Smoke Detectors, we have them, and they must be installed by Fire Department Personnel. If you live in Northern Natchitoches Parish and are in need of a smoke detector(s), contact us. Natchitoches Parish Fire District 9, along with the Louisiana State Fire Marshals "Operation Save A Life" have received another shipment of Smoke Detectors, to be installed Free of Charge. These Detectors will be installed by the Fire Department, FREE !!! There are numerous fire related injuries and fatalities that may have been prevented by a working smoke detector each year in Louisiana. Smoke Detectors save Lives !! Natchitoches Parish Fire District 9 (Campti, LA) will install these detectors to any resident of Northern Natchitoches Parish. This includes our service area, along with Natchitoches Fire District 2 (Goldonna, Creston, Reidhimer, Chestnut), Natchitoches Fire District 3 (Clarence), and Natchitoches Fire District 8 (Ashland). If you live in any of these areas and are in need of a Smoke Detector (s) you can inbox us, e-mail us at [email protected] or call and leave a message at 318-476-2200. If you live outside of these areas, contact you local Fire Department. Remember, these detectors must be installed by the Fire District.

Natchitoches Parish Fire District 9 has several smoke detectors to be installed free of charge. If you live in or near the protection district of Natchitoches Fire District 9 (Campti, Black Lake, Fairview Alpha & Grapps Bluff) , and are in need of a smoke detector(s), please let us know. These will be installed by Fire Department Personnel. These detectors were provided by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office. You can call (318) 476-2200 - Leave a message, e-mail [email protected] or inbox us to schedule your detector install. We will provide these until our stock runs out.

Winter is coming, and this season is known for an increased danger in structure fires.

If you have detectors already in your house, please check them often for proper operation.

Natchitoches Parish Fire District 9 was dispatched to this structure fire on Front Street in Campti, LA by the Natchitoches Parish Communications Center (E-911) on Saturday September 27, 2025 at 9:39 pm. The first Fire Unit arrived on scene 6 minutes later, to find heavy smoke and fire venting from the eve of the house. Firefighters attacked the fire from the interior and exterior, quickly bringing the fire under control. Firefighters determined that the fire was caused by objects left on the stove un-attended.

Thoughts and Prayers for Beauregard Fire District 4 for the loss of this Fireman.

On July 15, 2025 at 0335 am BPFD4 was dispatched to a medical emergency on Hwy 26 near Scallon Rd. with CPR in progress. FF/OP Jonathan Ashworth and FF Tabitha Ashworth responded from their home on Scallon Rd. in their POV. Winds were calm and there was a dense patchy fog in the area. Their vehicle left the roadway near 766 Scallon Rd striking several trees and causing heavy damage to the vehicle. Jonathan Ashworth died on scene because of injuries sustained in the accident. FF Tabitha Ashworth survived with only minor injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Louisiana State Police, Troop D. Jonathan Ashworth has been a member of the fire district since November 14, 2018. He was the best person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was an asset to his community, his family and this department. His smile and distinct voice will be missed.
