Final Update - 4:35PM All CISD students have been safely released. Hemphill SO along with Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division will continue to investigate this matter. We would like to thank TxDPS Highway Patrol, Roberts Co. SO, Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens and Hemphill County Hospital EMS for their swift response in helping keep our children and community safe.

Update: 0901AM - HCSO and TxDPS remain on scene and continue to investigate threats received this morning involving CISD campuses. Campuses are secure and students are safe. There will be an increased law enforcement presence throughout the day. Updates will be released as they are available. We still ask that the public avoid campuses. Thank you for your cooperation.

Hemphill County Deputies along with Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are on scene at all Canadian ISD campuses in response to a telephone threat received at Canadian Elementary. Campuses are secure at this time. Official instructions if any will be provided by Canadian ISD. It is asked that parents and the public avoid CISD campuses at this time as investigations are ongoing.

Public Service Announcement! We have a college student named Nikita Virunen from Estonia (Europe) in the city of Canadian going door to door knocking on people’s doors selling educational material. He has been given a city permit to be doing this but if you still have questions you can always call the Sheriff’s Office about it. He is very friendly so let’s help him feel welcomed!

**TRAFFIC HAZARD**

Use caution traveling Southbound on 60/83 out of Canadian, A semi lost a load of gravel. HCSO and TxDPS are on scene assisting with traffic control. TXDOT is enroute to remove the debris. Move over and slow down.
