Arrowhead State Park, located near Canadian in southeastern Oklahoma, features 2,200 acres with amenities that will appeal to all visitors. Arrowhead State Park is an ideal setting for a relaxed, low-key trip or an activity-filled adventure. Visitors can explore 25 miles of trails on horseback, and Arrowhead Stables, located on-site, offers riding stables and horses for rental. Boarding and riding

lessons are available, and Arrowhead Stables also has a play area and petting zoo. Hiking and biking trails are scattered throughout Arrowhead State Park. The extensive trails in the park are great ways to explore the Oklahoma scenery and take in the natural world, whether on horseback, on foot or on a mountain bike. On the trails, visitors may get a close-up view of some of the animals that live in the park, such as deer, wild turkeys and rabbits. Lake Eufaula, the largest man-made lake in Oklahoma, borders most of Arrowhead State Park and is accessible by boat from a ramp located near the marina. Water sports of all kinds are enjoyed on the lake, from water skiing to wakeboarding. The marina located in the park offers a restaurant, fuel, tackle, bait and indoor fishing. Fishing is a popular activity at Lake Eufaula, and the catch of the day may include catfish, crappie and sand bass, among many other types of fish. There is also a swimming area near the marina, perfect for cooling off from a hot day in the sun. The 18-hole golf course in Arrowhead State Park gives visitors a chance to hit the links while experiencing the beauty of the park. Featuring a pro shop, driving range and putting green, this full-service 72-par course will provide visitors with an enjoyable day outdoors. From two holes on the course, visitors have great views of Lake Eufaula. Arrowhead State Park offers 91 tent sites and 91 RV sites, 20 of which have full hookups available. A dump station is also located on site. There are many conveniently located comfort stations in the park, and the park also offers picnic pavilions and a playground. A group camp is available to visitors, and features a kitchen and bunkhouses. Perfect for family reunions or large get-togethers, the group camp can accommodate up to 144 people. Arrowhead State Park also features an airstrip for the convenience of those who would like to fly into the park.

Species Breakdown

Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Spotted Bass: Fair. Fish are moving into typical late-summer patterns. Smaller bass stay shallow early in the day, while bigger fish head deeper to ledges and points (10–20 feet deep). Try topwater frogs in the shallows or crankbaits, jigs, and June-bug soft plastics on a Carolina rig offshore.

Catfish (Blue, Channel, Flathead): Fair to good. Target main lake channels, river channels, and rocky areas or riprap using cut bait, live shad, or chicken liver.

Crappie: Good. Look for them around brush structures, docks, and rocky areas using minnows, jigs, or hair jigs.
